2000 Grand Prix GTP- 2000 Trans Am WS6 M6
I absolutely LOVED my Torquer V.2. Great power all the way to 6500, torque was a nice level line, and I barely noticed it driving around town.
Heads...I'm a fan of PRC. They're cheaper than AFR or Trickflow, but still have some nice flow numbers. I had Stage 2.5 5.3L Heads milled to 59cc chambers with my Torquer and stock bottom end. I now have their 237cc runner Custom Cast Heads w/ 62cc chambers on my 427 LS3.
I agree and disagree with you on this one.
For a stock bottom end, naturally aspirated LS1, you're not going to gain much from a custom grind. Almost every combination of duration, lift, and LSA has already been massed produced by so many companies out there.
For a custom built stroker motor, yes go custom grind. It will get you exactly what you want for your style of driving, especially when you add Nitrous or FI.

Considering guys use the 5.3 heads on the LS1....I would think they are the same length.
One phone call to LG/TSP/Thunder would answer this one though for sure.
Overall that is correct.
But I think a custom grind designed exactly for what you have (and what you are planning to have) will still outperform an off-the-shelf grind. Granted, it may only be 3-5RWHP....but seeing as how the price is basically the same, why not?

Also, this is what happens when you rev out a GTP only 20 seconds after starting her...such a bad idea.

And it is now snowing here.
And I am not in the hills this time.
6-8 inches apparently.

I wouldn't have a clue what to ask for in a custom grind. I take it you tell them what you have, what your goals are, and let the experts whittle away a bumpstick for you?

Luckily the 3800 is a strong mofo...iron block and heads will do that
Bet this lowly V6 will walk you in the 1/8 mile
I have no top end power, so no 1/4 mile racing for me
Patrick Guarra...the best of the best. He spec'd mine out for the 427.

Yep. Went for a cruise last night, and I'm definately hearing a bearing noise from the rear. Figured I'll pull the.axles first, as they're the easiest, and check them.
