Reasonable Price On Getting An Intake Installed

i got a spare LS1 Intake a couple of months ago & had it painted,now im ready to have it installed how much do you guys think i should pay to have it installed,i have a 2000 WS6 A4 if that helps

You could try to do it your self.

But if you wanna pay.
I woudnt pay more than $100

It could go from $60-100 depending on the area

i took it off a 95 Camaro Z28 with the LS1 swap,good thing the hood was already off,i dont want to mess anything up thats why i would feel better letting a professional install it

If you took it off from another car. I would do the swap my self if I were you,
You have the basic knowledge on how to do it.
Trust me at the end your gonna feel better if you do it your self....

You could use that money for something else.
P&P TB. Lid, panhard bar. Or anything

You can do it yourself, the posted thread will tell you how to do it exactly.

It is as difficult as changing your brake pads or plugs and wires.

I hear you but it's a lot of coin to just swap in a painted intake. I agree about not paying over $100 problem is if you go to a shop plan on spending at least $200 probably more. They will quote 2-3hrs in labor and miscellaneous charges it could easily get close to $300 depending on the shop and their hourly rate. If you are really that uncomfortable with doing it yourself try to find a friend or a friend of one that can do it for $100 or less.

A knowedgeable shop should charge a basic 1hr worth of labor (avg between $70-$95 depending on shop).

I vote DIY..not difficult at all. Follow the ls1howto guide and go slow. Just be mindful of the oil sending unit and you'll be fine.

I vote do it yourself there is more satisfaction in ownership that way.

Get a new one(sending unit) and swap it out while your in there, the seals probably all dried out and leaking.

It's easy bud, just wear gloves cause the cowl pins are sharp. Or be a fat head like me, and have scabs for two weeks. your choice really.

Wow... that actually does look a lot easier now than it did last year when I first started thinking about swapping to LS6!
