As long as I take my Protonix daily, I seem to do OK. I get a small episode every now and again that lasts seconds. I've had about 6 or so episodes where it is like I described though. Yeah, it sucks a big one lol.

I had it hit me about month and a half back. it was painful. Lasted two weeks. Only thing I could eat or drink was sprite, crackers and the hostess chocolate donuts, water even made me want to puke. My grandma gave me some of her prescription acid reflux pills and they did no good. That was the worst thing in the world. I never actually puked, just felt it in my throat. I would've went to the doctor but I didn't. Next time for sure though.

chocolate triggers it and so does carbonation...just so you know if you ever get it again.
I've heard "salt" helps with it...it helps counter-act against the acid.

My grandma insists it was an ulcer. The carbonation was the only thing that took pressure off my stomach and helped me burp. Plus I had what my grandma called sour burps. I lost 9 pounds in those two weeks and was in extreme extreme pain. Icee's and slushies made the pain not so intense either. I'm still half scared to death to eat some of my favorite foods. I never ever want to experience that again. First time my BF seen me cry. Lol

I am so glad I don't have those issues... especially since I am kind of fond of food.

1st time I had a bad case of it was right after eating raw peanuts. I was sent to the hospital as I had no idea what was going on. I panicked and was freaking out. I thought I was having an allergic reaction and dying to be honest. It's happened about 5 or 6 times since then. Last big episode was awhile ago now.
Ever since then though, I stopped eating all nuts. I'm afraid to even try them. Peanut butter also. It sucks bc I love peanut butter and Reese's Pieces

I get it sometimes. I eat those soft chews like they are going out of style some days.
I have to sleep at a slight incline sometime or else it gets really bad. Also, I just sip water trying to get that flap to close.
Its no fun.

yeah apparently it's more common than people realize. I sleep elevated also. I also don't eat real late at night...otherwise that really triggers it.
We should start an acid reflux thread apparently

Mine is hit or miss. Sometimes it stays away for while, other times it is there non stop for days.

3 hours of sleep...ugh.
I am NOT looking forward to this conference call at 9 with the company executives.I have to explain why one of our systems creshed yesterday and why it's not fixed yet. Hopefully in 2 hours, I can come up with enough BS for them to leave me alone so I can fix it.
