Glock 23 shooting range results
Well, first time shooting a gun (other than a few rounds from my dad's gun when I was a kid). It appears, I have a lot to learn. I need to learn how to control my breathing.
Gun: Glock 23
Ammo: Winchester FMJ 165gr .40 cal target ammo.
I tried 25ft and 50ft distances. My magazines varied from 12 to 13 rounds.
Here is a 25ft slow fire, took my time for accuracy 2 magazines:

Here is a 25ft rapid fire, pulled the trigger as fast as i could, 2 magazines:

Here is a 50ft slow fire, took my time for accuracy, 2 magazines:

I think I am holding the gun a bit tight, because it appears my rounds are going more toward the left.

I cant see the pictures here at work but for future posts there is a guns and ammo section. Shooting a pistol is just like shooting any other gun. There is a right way to hold it, right way to breath, right way to pull the trigger. After enough practice you will be able to bring the gun up and everything will fall into place naturally.

your grip on the gun, and the "fit" of the gun to your particular anatomy is key, especially w/ handguns.. looks like you are jerking too the left (jerking the trigger), assuming you are right handed. try to get a proper thumbs-forward grip (you want grip 60/40, 60 being support hand, 40 being strong/trigger hand) - it's a bit counterintutive, ...but should combat the jerking...
also, for a newbie, trying to "group" your shots at 50 ft is pushing it, and is not a realistic self-defense range in most cases.. try your new grip at closer ranges (7 ft, ...15ft, ...) i really wouldn't go out too much farther than that, unless it's for fun, testing your skill - just don't beat yourself up too much over it..

I have a 23, luv it, I carry for my CCW. 165 grain are good to get a feel without hammering your arms all day long.
Op it could be your rear sight needs a small adjustment to the right. A small one. It looks like your fairly consistant in where your shot placement is. Most of the rounds impact is to the left. If your grip was too hard you would be shooting all over, too loose in the top right (just because of the way this glock is made)
+1 on wileyCoyote info in post 6

So you could charge $100 for it to be purchased or pay $25 for a certified armorer to do it for you. Like all businesses it comes down to making money.
Here's one for sale:

So gay........companies are so cheap these days.
At least with my PT 99 AF and my Baby Eagle .40 I get some stuff along with it. lol My P90 even came with a lock. lol However, the case my Baby Eagle came in is so freaking cheap and the PT 99 AF didnt even come with a case, just a box. lol The Ruger has one of the nicest cases and its heavy duty with molded plastic isntead of just padding.

It's also likely that you're anticipating recoil. If you've got a shooting buddy, have him/her load your magazine and swap a couple of live rounds with snap caps. It's called the ball and dummy drill.
And don't adjust the sights without having someone else shoot it from a rest.
