Phantom Black Metallic- 2004 GTO M6
Could be. I know when I had my old cammed LS1 dynoed, it made 278whp. After three more sessions, it made 343whp. Some folks will remove some parts and make the car "semi-stock". Hell...there are people who would swap out a fully built motor for a used, unabused motor before selling the car. Ya never know.

I only made 312HP and 325TQ w/LT's a Lid,Free Mods and Frosts Mail order tune.
I wonder how much HP loss there is turning 17" tires vs 16"tires?
I have seen other 99's with the same mods doing about the same #'s2010 Camaro SIM 2SS/RS A6

Navy Blue Metallic- 98 T/A, 00 FBVert, 78T/A
there wouldn't be to much loss between 17" vs 16" if they are made of the same material like if say both are made from aluminum. However it would matter greatly if it was 16" aluminum vs 17" steel. Steel would have more mass/weight density so that would require more torque to turn. Now however the more rotating mass you put on the wheels the greater the drag on the drive train = loss of HP.
Most HP drag comes from the transmission through the drive shaft and then the rear. The rear having the most drag due to the gearing in the hub and turning of the wheels.
Tires also play a part in how much friction they give/have against road surface.
This is why you still see drag racers using 15" wheels.

As a side note, every DYNO reads differently. It also depends on whether it was a Mustang DYNO or DynoJet.
1/4 mile times are all that matter

And you still have the DynaPak dynos that bolt directly to the axles. I have heard it is more accurate than Mustang or DynoJet. Mine was dynoed on a DynoJet.

Never seen a near stock car gain almost 40RWHP.....
