Phantom Black Metallic- 2004 GTO M6
You're trying to "brake-torque?" I have read both online and in GMHTP that some GTO owners use Harrop brakes/calipers but they are in the thousands. You could try Wilwood, 05-06 GTO setup as well. I also agree with using eBay.

JAX04,
If your GTO has the stock (PBR) brakes, then first try fitting a set of front brake pads from a Corvette C5. They are on the same back-plate but the pad material has about 40% more surface area.
That along with Super Dot 4 fluid is a good first step.
Second option is to fit the HSV brakes. They were an option on the Aus and UK cars. PBRperformance are the o.e. suppliers for these cars.
The "Performance" Brake Kit uses 330 x 32mm front and 315 x 18mm rears (the front brake caliper is from the C5 Vette). This can be bought as a kit and is the same that's fitted to all HSV GTO's and HSV Clubsport R8 sedans. This kit will fit inside 17" wheels:-

The "M" Series is probably overkill for what you need:-

p.s. This place is a good source of original factory parts:-
