Part # for R&P?
Anybody know the part number for the rack and pinion?
I think this is it?
OEM Part # 26044844 (per alldatadiy.com)
It shows up on gmpartsdirect for $326. Is that right for the cost of a new R&P?Last edited by SMWS6TA; 04-19-2011 at 07:02 AM.

read my ninja edit. gmpartsdirect shows the dealer cost for $626.44 and their cost for $326.
damn R&P. It's not leaking to bad, it's just I know it is and it really bugs the hell out of me more then I need to run out right now and fix it. I think I'll just keep throwing some fluid at it till it goes.
Thx for the quick reply. You must work at a dealership.Last edited by SMWS6TA; 04-19-2011 at 07:12 AM.

I'm not sure I think so because they list separately. I've never replaced a R&P that wasn't fully assembled (done them on army trucks). I think this will suck if I had to do a complete rebuilt.
I just check O'Reilly's and they sell a Cardone for $243 (complete). Never heard of them.

i would just spend the extra cash and get the factory replacement. i dont trust the aftermarket stuff just because its not USUALLY built as well. now if your strapped for cash then thats another story

I looked at it again and saw it was a reman. I'm refusing to use reman stuff if I can. have had to many bad experiences with them.

sorry about that... i was talking ot someone and forgot what i was doing...
you have to get your suspension code from the door sticker... i can't remember the code but when you order the rack they should be asking you what 3 letter code you have... i got sent the wrong one and it wouldn't work cause the rack would be up against my headers...
