But from what I understand, they figure in alot of other expenditures on their gas prices to pay for other things that we here in the US don't have.
So technically speaking, their high prices are for other reasons and they have always been very high per gallon regardless of oil prices.

In some parts of Europe it is even 14 dollars a liter. But remeber they drive smaller cars that wieght less and I have visted Rome and the French Rivera. They like to drive differently that Americans. When I was there I saw 3 Lamborgini Diablo's which are way smaller than the American Diablo's burn out on the highway. Also, you can park on the side walk so no driving around parking lots, there really isn't any. You can almost walk to anywhere pretty much. Except of course driving from city to city.
Premium is 3.59 here.Last edited by Hot head; 03-04-2011 at 03:05 PM.

3.65 for 93 in the Steubenville oh. I am going to apply for a BP visa, it will save 10%, that's 18 cents a gallon.

So you think that because the countries that pump it out of the ground and sell it to the world can afford to sell it to their own people cheap and tax free, that it's a political conspiracy everywhere else in the world that jacks the prices up? Not everything is the liberals' fault. This is a WORLD commodity. Our politicians and EPA aren't that far reaching, no matter how much you want to blame them for everything.
It really is supply and demand, to a large extent. When the US and it's western allies were the predominant buyers of oil around the world, we could exert much more pressure on the producing countries to keep the costs lower. But now that they have more markets to sell to, with different governments and ideologies to deal with too, we can't keep the prices down anymore.
But having said that, I do agree, I think you're right that someone is controlling it, to an extent. I say it's really the stock markets and traders that help drive the prices up. Speculation is some BS that I personally think should be outlawed. Traders drive prices up artificially, and then make a profit off it, while forcing the rest of us to pay the higher prices for it.

Custom Swirly Black- 2001 WS6 M6
Saw as high 3.89 for premium (what all 3 of my rides get), I think I pumped 3.6X yesterday.
Just means more nights of having people over vs going out.

ok in less than two weeks premium went from 3.30 a gallon to 3.50 a gallon here. What i dont understand is who is making all the profits? Is it the gas station selling it? Is it the supplier? Or all of the above? Think about how many people put gas every day. Dam thats alot of money!!!!
