Arctic White- 2000 Camaro SS SLP #173
Hey there.... Regular Unleaded as of today here in Barrie, Ontario was $1.17/Litre....
Works out to $4.47 a US gallon!
I haven't even looked at Premium prices in 4 months, not since I put the SS
away for the winter.

Pewter Metallic- 2000 Pontiac Trans Am WS6
in N.O. gas went from to $2.89 to $2.99 to $3.05 to $3.19 now its $3.29 all those prices were for regular,i might have to keep the 02 Cavalier looks like the T/A will be resting for the summer also because its a must that i use the A/C & the A/C burns more gas especially with a V8 car

Black- 2002 Camaro SS SLP
Well with a MS4 cam, 3500 stall that has NO freaking lockup atm, i go through 2-3 tanks a week, i DD the car to school and work, work is 5 miles away, school is 25ish, thats back and forth 4 times a week...
93 was 3.79 today, filled up.
But in the long run, paying more now for gas is WAY cheaper than a car note/ loan payment for another DD car, + insurance.
It sucks, but ill live.

I just ASSume its going up between 30 to 50cents a year...it helps me not freak every time it goes up.
or to make ourselves feel better...in 10 yrs we will thinking "wow it was cheap back then remember when gas was 3.50$ a gallon!"
on a tangent...
Dept of Energy just released the following info on a hybrid class 8 truck project...
Although the largest trucks—Class 8, with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) above 33,000 lb—make up only 1% of the U.S. highway vehicle fleet, they are responsible for almost 20% of highway petroleum consumption
The National Renewable Energy Laboratory’s (NREL’s)
Fleet Test and Evaluation team is evaluating the 12-month,
in-service performance of five Class 8 diesel hybrid-electric delivery trucks and five comparable conventional diesel trucks
operated by Coca-Cola Refreshments in Miami/South Dade County, Florida.
NREL is evaluating the five hybrid and five diesel trucks from May 2010 to May 2011 as the trucks serve their Miami/South Dade delivery area.To track the progress of the Coca-Cola hybrid truck evaluation project, visit the AVTA (www.eere.energy.gov/vehiclesandfuels/avta) and Fleet Test and Evaluation (www.nrel.gov/vehicles

Piece of cake, Z28thunder and myself are not the only ones doing it.
You really have to maintain the cars, keep tire pressures up, change the 02 sensors regularly just like you do spark plugs and wires.
I think 02's are the big factor here. Most people just let them ride,,,but they are consumables just like everything else. After 40-50,000 miles they are at the end of their expected life.
As far as mods, if done correctly and not too extreme, it will actually help your gas mileage.
My wifes car as I mentioned has a cam, headers, off road Y, and a lid.
The cam is a mild 210/218 at .050 and .551 lift on a 112 lsa. It also has full roller rocker arms from Crane.
I tune it myself, now running an SD tune in the car and it's doing better than ever on gas now. 23-24 around the city in stop and go. It does 30+ on the highway cruising at 75-80 mph. 6 speed so it's only turning 17-1800 rpms. Still has the stock 3.42's and stock tire and wheels sizes.
Alot of these younger folks like to stick larger wheels and tires on the cars, add a bunch of stereo equipment and other doodad add ons. All this stuff kills mileage.
Keep your bolt ons from being excessive, keep the camshaft duration at 224 or less, maintain the car regularly as I mentioned above, and don't forget about 02 sensors, then find yourself a real good tuner that knows what they are doing, and most importantly, drive the car sensibly and you'll be rewarded with better mileage.

navy blue- 2002 camaro ss
I think you forgot to mention one hell of a tail wind. My ss on a good day with the right conditions might get 18 mpg in town but no where near 20 mpg. even with mild driving.

It will go up and then come down. I figure since I am not a raging alcoholic, dont smoke, do drugs, or buy stupid shit on a normal basis that its not a huge deal. Yeah it hits the pocket a little more but like someone else stated its cheaper than a bank note for another car.
Wish I had my bikes back. That sure would help with the gas prices this summer! I expect it to come down to what it was a while back after it goes up to $4+ per gallon.

That's just it. We have plenty of oil but the tree huggers won't let us drill. They said on the news the other day we have as much as 80-100 years worth of supply here that is still untapped.
Canada has a huge supply up there as well.
Prices would plummet for gas if we drilled our supply of oil here instead of buying it overseas. But the big wigs wouldn't be filling their pockets that way.
Gas prices in the Middle East are .70 cents a gallon.
