^I agree. I think my SS is relatively rare and with all the mods done to it, stands apart from the crowd. But, I constantly get comments like, "Oh it's an LT1" or "have you thought about dropping an LS1 into it" etc. Even had one guy from a body shop tell me that if I wanted, he could do an LS1 front clip swap

Enjoy your LT1, it has its issues, but it's a fun car to drive. I also think LT1's sound a hell of a lot better than LS1's (to all the LS1 guys, I had a cammed and sprayed LS1 before my LT1)

Your cousin actually dumped the white ZR1 style wheels??? To each his own, I personally like the white factory wheels. I'm running 17x11's in the rear, but at quick glance, the car still looks stock from the outside.

No kidding. I mean, my car has mods galore and I'm glad the previous owner did nothing to the exterior. I think it ruins such a nice car.

nope, an anniversary car like that should be left stock IMO. the most i would do is the get the 17x11 stock style DD zr1 for rear wheels and powder coat them white.

Totally agree with you, that's pretty much the extent of my exterior mods and it's really not obvious unless you look at how wide the rear tires are. Haven't very many anniversary cars around, but I sure have seen torque thrusts on what seems like every F-body around my town.

Torque thrusts have to be the most overdone ugly retro wheel ever put on a 4th gen. God they're hideous. Just my opinion

Have to love the mid 90s F-body cars. I had had an LT1 Corvette and they are punchy. LT1 and LS1 cars each have issues, none are perfect.

Not sure when or if it ever was changed but that opti can be a pita. Plugs and wires might not be a bad idea since its got 55k miles on it.

Any if anyone shows you any "hate" for buying an LT1 its usually because they cant even afford one. At 18 you have a great car on your hands there, just be safe with it.

Looks just like my 97 except mines a hardtop. I also have a thing for the LT1 body style even tho i have a 99 ss.
