I have been leary to get to deep into the brakes with ABS. From what I have read you need a machine to recalibrate the ABS. How true is that.

No truth. Like Jeff said, unless you replace the BPMV or EBCM , you won't need a scan tool

Speaking of bleeding the brakes, Chilton's said there are bleeders on the ABS pump, but I couldn't find them, and bled everything at the calipers.

And for the coolant flush, do you just put teflon tape on the block plugs and screw them back in when you are done? Or am I gonna have to unscrew them to drain, put them back in every time I cycle the flush?

Not sure if that quote was directed at me. I didn't say anything about a scan tool. Now I will:
Pads, rotors, calipers, and hoses can be replaced on a 2002 without one. Just bleed the brakes. Its just a simple hydraulic system.

During the flushing process just thread them back in without tape or anything. If they weep a bit it really doesn't matter. When the flushing process is complete, then use something to seal and protect the threads. I used a blue thread paste -- sparingly -- on the threads in lieu of tape.

Just did the PS fluid flush this week when I changed the seals. I'm doing the coolant flush tomorrow. How do I do the brake fluid flush? Do I just open the bleeders and keep the reservoir full of fluid until t comes out clean?

All the other fluids had been change recently.

From my experience, it is an old wives' tale. I've used synthetic oil with all my vehicles, regardless of mileage. Currently, my SS has almost 160k miles on it and I still use synthetic oil in it, the same weight I used in it when I bought it new.

In my opinion, I've seen some pretty cheap, crappy fuel filters out there. But alot of them just the same thing and are good. I usually use ACDelco brand fuel filters. In general, the same brand oil filters you trust, you can trust there fuel filter too. So most people like Napa Gold/Wix oil filters (although they might be trusting out dated info, not sure) so you can probablly trust their fuel filters too.
If your fuel filter says "Made in China"...you might have a cheap, crappy fuel filter.
