SLP lid fitment question?????
Has anyone ever had to shave the SLP opening to get the stock MAF to go into it? I have struggled the last hour and a half but it seems the opening on the SLP lid is smaller than the metal rim of the MAF. Please help.

Whoa, ..., You're trying to put the MAF directly into the airlid?!?
Back-up, ..., Go search out photos to see what it's supposed to look like.
Sounds like you're missing the boat, ..., or boot really, ...,

yes...it goes directly into the lid. Heat the lid up with a hair dryer and it'll be easy to get it on there.

But tell me, ..., Is there, or is there NOT, ..., a short section of 'boot' or rubber tubing between this SLP aftermarket lid & the MAF sensor?!?

No shit? I'm not a SLP aftermaket lid owner, but I thought there was something between the two.
The SLP/Donaldson has the oval shaped boot.
Guess I missed the boat/boot, ..., Sorry man!
Yea, I admit when I make a mistake, ..., used to it, I've been married for 26+years, ...,

Yep, my SLP lid is also connected right to the MAF on my 02, I bought that setup maybe 3-4 years ago?? It was a real tight fit, and I don't envy the day I have to take it back apart.
Strange thing though, My wifes camaro has an aftermarket lid, made of carbon fiber. Not sure who the lid is made by. It was on the car.
But it has this little piece of rubber on the lid that the MAF slides into you guys are speaking of.
The MAF still actually slides into the lid, with rubber sort of wedged in between and a clamp to finish it off. The rubber piece is split to slip over the lid on the outside diameter and the inside diameter at the same time. Almost seems to me the opening on this lid is much larger than the SLP lid to accomodate both the MAF and the rubber piece. It's also very easy to take apart and put back together.
I wish my other one with the SLP lid was made this way.

Last nite I put the lid on my car. To take the MAF out of the stock lid is a little hard. I had to heat it up.
To put it on the slp lid was a little easier.
