Id go with the lower milage, but im on the market for a C6ZO6 and they are starting to fall in the $45K - $50K range. In 4 years the ZR1s will be in the same range

Now that is what I'm waiting for: "In 4 years the ZR1s will be in the same range."
I waited 7 years to get my 2003 50th Special Anniversary .....

So, I could wait a few more for a ZR1:

By then they will have out the C7 .... something else to look forward too. Enjoy the journey.
Can I help it if I like cars but, don't want to spead my life's savings on them?
I can wait .... all bets are off if I win the lottery though.
And until then when I want a speed thrill I can just kick in the hyperdrive on this baby:

Haven driven a hertz special edition C6 ruined the C5's for me. I always.go for a.lower mileage car in most cases but haven driven C5 's a C5Z and that C6 hands down a c6 is my choice. C5's have dropped here in Houston to where their.only a couple grand more than a fbody but a am waiting till I sell my trailblazer and 93 5.0 so I can get a decent mileage.C6. The C5z is fun but I want a Tara top to me a frc vette takes the fun outta it. Certain ate nice buy no room where the hatch has.storage for.a.couple bags for a.weekend trip. Flip UPS are cool but a headache, after all these years with a TA I like.the C6 lights better. C6z's are awesome cars but outta my price range.
1998 Trans Am 85k miles.

still think best one to buy is 2006 [c6/zo6 ] and newer.. there might never be a 427 cube small block /ls7/ again ?

Way to go... if your on the buying end right now.... That's what I'm looking for. I too like the targa top so, I'm leaning away from a Z06.... I'm thinking GS because of the flared wheel wells. I think it keeps the targa top.
The Z06 and ZR1 keep the tops for rigidity due to HP I think. So, might not be a good thing to S/C a GS car?

Mag. Red II_Victory Red- 2001 C5 Coupe
I have a 2001 C5 coupe and a 2008 C6 Z06..... no matter coupe, vert, Z; you'll never go wrong. It's a vette!

Well I love my C5, but the GS C6 and the C6ZO6 has me tempted. The Z because of the displacement and how well the respond to FI. I love my convertible so the GS attracts me.
If I get another corvette, Ill have to sell mine. IF I get a new Gen5 Camaro, I dont to sell the vett and I can use it as a Tampa Tuning write offwww.TampaTuning.Com

Meet us from 6p-10p at the Tampa HOOTERS located at 4420 W Gandy Blvd, Tampa. next date: JULY 13th

I like both in different ways. I love my C5 for the pop up lights! i like the seats in the C5 better than the C6. When i was looking i drove both and drove both coupes and verts. I LOVE MY VERT!!!! nothing like the open air. Very different than t-tops or a targa. Thats why i wouldn't go with a ZO6, no removable roof. Just my .02

Depends on what you want to use it for, if you want to go racing at the autox or HPDE's out at VIR, then look for a C5 Z06. The price on those have really fallen pretty far. If you just want to cruise around town then opt for the convertable in either car. I've owned both, I think the C6 is a nicer car with lot's of improvents over the C5, but I actually prefered driving the C5 more. Both have been my wifes car, and she drove them most of the time. FWIW, I'd take my WS6 over either!

Love My C6 , But............
I would go back to a C5 in a NY minute. I had a 99 C5 that was awesome and a 01 C5 that was even better. Love my C6 even better as these cars just keep getting better with time.
My 01 C5

I'll be getting the C5 Z06. Best bang for your buck I'd say. I'd get the C6 if I could afford it, but those Z06s are too much for me.

White- 1998 C5
C5 if you are on a budget is the way to go .Stay away from low mileage race cars that have been converted back to stock.

Velocity Yellow- 2009 Corvette
I had a 2003 Coupe, Auto and now have a 2009 coupe manual (3LT, Nav, NPP, Z51). The C6 is a much better car. It's really night and day difference. I sold my C5 with 32k miles so it's not like it was ragged out when I switched to the C6. It's hard to explain, but the C6 is more nimble and even with the Z51 suspension is more comfortable than the C5. The LS3 comes in at 436 hp vs. LS1 350. Not sure of the cost difference, but C6 is a much better product from paint to interior.
