Under the axle is not a good idea. If you ever need to drop the rearend for anything the exhaust becomes an issue. Unloading the suspension can also cause issues. Then there is the whole ground clearance issue as well.

The only cars designed to run pipes under the rearend are IRS setups. But it makes sense in that case.

Again I know Bassani makes a good product. I would just wonder about the between pipe.
Doing a custom setup like that is a nice idea but for me it poses a few problems.

For starters, I don't do crush bend systems on anything anymore. So I'd have to find a shop with a mandrel bender. Not many of those around.

Plus you pay more for the mandrel bending and the fab work involved. I'm pretty picky how I like things too, and finding someone to work with that shares the same detail is very difficult. It's part of the reason I started my own shop years ago.
In the end I could pay as much or more than the Bassani setup.

$50 of that was to buy 2 Turbo Thrush mufflers. So when I want I can run like below. Just add the mufflers to the above photo (again not my car but have run with 2 Turbo Thrush).

This setup would be the best and cheapest option. I would save it for a track only, or weekend toy type of car though. I don't have any interest in doing it on our 4th gens that are driven daily, and I know my wife wouldn't put up with the noise and drone either, she drives one of them

I have had a couple of classic cars like this though, my chevelle was one of them. Funny setting off car alarms in the grocery store parking lots I eventually installed tailpipes though, even on that car that is driven maybe once a week the dumps became a headache.

I would not want crush bends also. Again the photos are not mine. The setup here is mandrel bent.

I will say the bullets at WOT can get loud. But at cruise speed there is little noise or drone. Getting to that cruise speed can have some noise and drone.

With the thrush mufflers on it has a mild tone.

Get with Mrr23 on this site. He had a ton of video with his car making passes, the install, instructions, noise levels, dyno numbers comparing the Bassani to a single catback etc....
It was all posted on here at one time but it's been so long I doubt I could even find it. He could fill you in on all the details. Probably easier to email the stuff to ya. Hope that helps.

I hope he is still here and nothing happened. He's a good guy, helped me out when I bought a car down in Florida in the area he is from. Also helped me with tuning in the past.
As a matter of fact he had a really nice HPtuner tuning page with step by step instructions for various tasks. He was updating that from time to time. I thought maybe the moderators made a sticky on it??

I don't mean to thread jack, but does anyone know where the heck I can find the muffler that comes on the bassani true dual setup, or any bassani muffler at all for that matter? I've looked for about a week now and I can't find any sellers, not even on ebay.

Suggestion: If you are particularly irritated by another member's posting habits and are constantly fighting the urge to flame them, you can click on that person's profile, and select "Add to ignore list." This will make that person's posts invisible to you.

I checked bassani's site and I couldn't find any vendors other than local ones which don't ship, and in my case they only sell mustang stuff.
