Chevy still makes el camino?

Did image search, it's an actual car, although the motor work is a one off. Still, why don't they sell it state side? Holden in Australia makes the same thing with a different name and offer it with a motor so beefy it's advertised as the fastest production truck in the world.

theres was talk about 2 years ago in many publications and websites, about GM bringing that car here to the States under the Pontiac badge.
Pontiac even had a contest where people could name the car and whoevers name was choosen you won a trip and car.

I entered with with the name Pontiac Fuze...

instead something like and rpo code was picked, i think G8T or something lame, cant remember

Because anything that is actually cool or fast is not allowed here. So many sweet cars across the world that are not here. Generally the reason we don't have these sweet rides is because they do not pass U.S. safety specs or emissions.
