WTF??
I hate automakers' mentality that they need to be in every niche or segment. For instance, I despise the fact that Porsche is making a f***ing 4-door sedan.
But this one is extra stupid. Aston Martin is making a mini.
Aston Martin partners with Japanese automaker for the Cygnet, a city car that boasts the Toyota iQ's economy with a luxury trim.

Why would you despise prosche for making a 4 door? Aston has one, mercedes has em, bmw has em, lambo has one, audi has em, ferrari had a rare special edition 4 door, pretty much every car manufactor has a 4 door.

Mercedes and BMW started out as luxury sedan makers, so that doesn't bother me. They went the other way and decided they needed to get into the roadster segment, and the suv segment. That also goes to my point about all car makers thinking they need to have an offering for every segment. You can't just be a good sports car maker, or a good truck maker, or a good sedan maker. Everybody wants a piece of every pie, and everything gets diluted because of it, imo.
If I want a refined sexy sports car, I will think of Porsche. If I want a luxury sedan, I may think of BMW or Mercedes. But I have never thought, man I wish I could get a 4-door sedan but still brag to my buddies that I drive a Porsche. That's all that is. You don't have to have offerings for every segment. These companies can't just be satisfied with doing one thing well anymore. It's the stock driven effect. Gotta do new things so the investors can make a profit...
And a Lamborghini 4-door sounds appalling! I haven't seen that...Last edited by Schmalgar; 11-10-2010 at 09:38 AM.

Well then shame on caddilac for realeasing the coupe V line of cars. Thats like saying caddi should never make sport coupes as they have never had sports coupes and if you buy a caddi you should only be buying a big luxury car. Your right people want different things these days so car makers are trying to be able to appeal to everyone.
Here is the lambo 4 door
Here is the aston
I have no problem with either of these cars, they are BALast edited by Zinergy; 11-10-2010 at 11:19 AM.

The Aston Martin 4-door is better than the Porsche at least, cause they put the distinctive Porsche sport coupe rear end on the 4-door and it just looks weird. The Aston rear end works better on a 4-door imo...
Actually, looking more, that 4-door Aston is pretty bad ass like you say... The Lambo, eh... maybe it's the black wheels, but it don't look quite right to me...

Laws like that are coming to America soon aswell. Its not a europe thing its all car companys will have these rules. All manufactors will have to get a couple cars with high mpg. And the more types of cars you make the harder it will be to keep the mpg number high because its an average of your fleet.
Schmaglar i agree the porsche 4 door is a bit ugly from the back, at night the front looks like a vette coming up from behind you. But its still a fast 4 door, twin turbo v8 with 560hp and its 4 seconds faster aroudn the ring than the CTS-V, although the v has a faster top speed and costs less.
