Red- 2000 Chevy Camaro Z28
So here is what I have done:
On I-80, from Auburn, ca to Rocklin, Ca; the interstate is a nice down hill road with decent surfaces. I picked a time when trafic was very little and with very little gas in the car and no other objects in it (not even the spare tire was in it), with tyrick racing 101 gas. I started my speed run. I used my Escort Passport 9500i radar detector (it has a GPS speed measurement feature) I had this on and its accurate I hope. Anyway the run went great. All be it it took some time and a good length of road to get er dun.
At 130 to 150 I almost pissed my panties-since the car started a rolling up and down motion (due to under side aerodynamics and road shape) not being the best. I was able to finally get it to 160 and thats were I stopped. The car may have been able to go higher-but I simply did not have enough road way and time to get er higher.
The sounds of air noise were terrrble. I wont do it again ever.
So I went out and bought a Kawasaki ZX1400 street bike and with a speed healer installed on it (speed correction factor of -58.8 percent) I went and took her to a road outside of Ely Nevada with some other speed freaks and tok the bike to 202.5 Mph.
So what did I learn. I love speeding. I love it. But most cars should nto be bought for high speed runs-there simply is not enough road that is safe.
So buy a crotch rocket-alter the gears if need be and bypass the speed restrictor device and go for it.
I love taking my ZX14 to 150 plsu speeds each day I am on it, takes a a safe road and a few seconds-but damn 150 plus on a bike feel so great and is so easy.
PS,,,,tickets suck...

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
Ok I'll fess up. I took the 02 up to 145-150 when it was stock with 2.73 gears. Tach was at 4500rpm so I knew it would go faster but being on a public hiway and discretion being the better part of valor I backed out...
I once had the 67 up to ~156. I figured it out knowing the engine rpm, tire diameter and final gear ratio. Suprisingly, the factory rear spoiler starts to push the car down (you can feel it squatting) at ~100 mph...Last edited by 67CamaroRSSS; 11-11-2010 at 06:53 PM.

Tuned: 343rwhp/357rwt (before TD's). Best: 12.559 @ 108+, 1.73 60' @ 3500' DA w/MT ET Street DR's.

I hit 150 on the nose in my 94 formula M6 going up a hill. It had 3.73's, a bbk tb, and a cold air intake and that was practically it... I cant imagine what the 01SS I'm getting will do once I get long tubes and a tune

Oh, and I've been 156 on a 09Zx6r. It was like doing 80 in a normal car... I even had a backpack on and it was still smooth(other than the backpack straps beating the hell out of my sides lol).
and yes, never "hit" the brakes at that kind of speed.... I warped a brand new set at 140 once years back... It was drilled and slotted from there.
