Had a 9mm xd. I traded it off towards another 1911. Not to say that it was a bad gun, I just prefer the 1911

I have two. 4' 45 service like yours and a 4.5' XDm 9mm. The 45 is my favorite handgun.

The xd40sc is the most accurate 40 SC on the market, that ive shot. I had one with tritium ns, concealed great, even with a full size magazine.

I conceal mine daily. I carried it on duty with the PD in my vest and off duty in a inside the pants holster. Works well IMO

On duty I wasn't really trying to hide it. I just wanted to carry it in a way that it didn't impede my movement. It basically sat in a velcro/nylon holster I had made under my dominant arm so that I could draw it weak handed. I guess it is about 4-6 inches below my armpit.

Off duty if I'm going for a large caliber concealed and the XD is my choice, I carry it inside my pants but I have to think about clothing. It is a little wide but if you plan for it it works well. You'll need pants that fit loose enough for the weapon/holster combination to fit, a belt to hold it all together but not so tightly that it impedes drawing. I can't wear it with a shirt tucked in and nothing over it. You can see it but it's not overly obvious.

It's not my choice if I want to be in a lighter outfit I do have to admit. If I need a shirt tucked in and a jacket isn't an option, I go with my LCP. If I want more firepower...I either go untucked or wear a jacket.

I guess all of that is to caveat my it works well IMO comment. It does for me but it does take a little bit of planning.

This guy did a torture test. He said 20,000 rounds doesnt tell much about reliability and durability. So they shot 10,000 rounds cleaned the gun, then 7,500 more rounds and cleaned the gun then did glocks 6 tests. 0 Malfunctions
