Ram air hood engine mods
I just bought a fully functional ram air hood off of ebay. I am young and dumb so i dont know if i need to do anything to the engine for it to work, or just bolt it on and go.
Please help me! Thanks!

Just bolt it and go. You can try to find the bottom part of the Ram Air lid section that came with WS.6 cars to make it fully functional and get a lid, if you don't already have one.

Custom Swirly Black- 2001 WS6 M6
Thought everything had to be sealed to the air box to be "fully functional"?

I beleive it had one on it before i bought it. But he took it of for some reason to sell it to me. Probably sold the hood separate.

Pics would help. My car doesnt have a lid. Just a huge rectangle hole on the underside of the hood that the filter seals up to.

Yeah what this guy said. Because it depends on what type of hood you bought. Either one will work fine with your stock air intake setup, so you can put it on and go. But depending on whether you got a real ws6 or clone hood, or something like a suncoast style hood will determine what kind of air intake you need to get the most out of it. The suncoast type hoods are made to work with an upturned air intake that seals against the big hole on the underside of the hood like wicked1 says. The real ws6 style hood uses a raised airbox that doesn't really seal to the hood, though you can do that afterwards with something like a jaam kit or some folks have done homemade jobs as well.

Hmmm I think thats the basic air box. The Ram Air air box .....the slot across the front is a lot taller to allow more air to flow through. And the box itself is taller to allow for the taller opening. Also I think the factory decal says Ram Air on the lid. The hood you bought....I dont think Ive ever seen one that you had to cut the openings out yourself. Even if you cut it out nice what would you use for screen on it??
