You know you drive a TA, when it gets stolen at 2AM...from the dealership where it was being worked on...while it was still up on the lift...and they got it out by driving a brand new Suburban throught the perimeter wall where the gate hinges were...and they leave the Suburban...and they crash it the next morning by losing control and hitting a parked car.
Really happened. Dealer made me a screaming deal on a new one (August 2002).Last edited by Senator; 08-18-2010 at 09:49 PM.

The good news is that I bought the wreckage from the insurance co. - recovered $5000 worth of mods, parted out the rest for $8000. Gave the ins. co. $5000 for the wreckage and then put the mods on my new car. Got a really good settlement form the ins co. and used the remaining to put a Moser 12 bolt on it before I even took it home.
Had enough to left to buy a new Mecham hood - with the raised intake nostrils and paint the hood and wing. Sometimes you just can't lose. I even got a free tool kit the idiots who stole it left in the car.
It was a wonder to observe the results of combining 400 HP and abject stupidity. They lost control leaving a cul-de-sac and smashed into a parked car on the way to the chop shop. The idiots woke up the neighborhood at 2 AM when the guy following the car to the chop shop got out of his truck and started a fistfight with the boy driver who couldn't drive the car!
Truth is stranger than fiction.

It doesn't matter if you win by an inch, or a mile. Winning is winning

You know you drive a Trans Am when you secretly watch people in the parking lot as you start your car up, and you get a kick out of it when they turn to see what the hell that was.

Maple Red Metallic- 2000 Pontiac Trans Am M6
YKY Drive a Trans Am when your car is a 2000 MY and you can't resist the urge to yell "CHEWIE PUNCH IT" when gunning it off the line; the exhaust sounding suspiciously like a Wookie..
YK you're riding in my Trans Am when I make obscure Star Wars references to the Millennium Falcon.. except for "Don't worry kid she'll hold together".

You know you drive a Trans Am when it's a cold, sunny winter day and you're using the AC.
