Will 6.2L heads work on a 5.7?
So my buddy knows a guy at work that's got a pair of 6.2L heads that came off an LS motor. I can't get much more information about 'em, except that my buddy plans on buying another LS1 pretty damn soon, and is itching to get these heads. I've got something that the owner of these heads wants, but am wanting to know if it would be worth trading a junked oldsmobile motor for a pair of these 6.2L heads? I haven't done much research, but I know the 6.0 heads are better used for boosted LS1s. Whats with the 6.2 heads, what are they good for? And will they work on a 5.7 shortblock?

I'm gonna say no.On a Ls1 with stock pistons the CR would probably be in the high 8's or low 9's.Making it a complete dog unless it was FI.
Plus I think the 6.2 heads have slightly bigger valves which would require fly-cutting with a decent sized cam.Last edited by importhater81; 07-04-2010 at 07:12 PM.

Navy Blue Metallic- `98 Formula M6 HdTp
The 6.2 Heads are most likely L92/LS3's and will not work on engines with smaller then a 4" bore (6.0 or bigger). The good news is they flow better then most aftermarket cathedral port heads.

Babington style waste oil heater pumps
The cam gear pump works fine for filtered WVO or used motor oil Babington heaters and I have installed it on my Babington style heaters. Ldu Company's stock number is 450516 , The only thing about the cam gear pump is that the fire kind of pulses as the cam gear rotates. If you use the spur gear pump that is LDU's stock number 450512 then you get a steady non-pulsing fire. The WVO pump website is http://www.liangdianup.com/subpages/oilpump_1.htm or you can click through to the tools section from the home page at www.LDUcompany.com
LDU Company also has other parts that I use for building my waste oil burners, like gear reduction motors. I find it best to turn the pump slower because you really don't need a whole lot of oil dripping on the atomizer ball.
