coilovers

I know that QA1 makes fully adjustable coilovers but their springs are too soft. Is there anyone who makes fully adjustable coilovers with non-progressive stiff springs(like roadrace springs)? Am I going to have to piece together a kit and if so with what pieces? I like the double adjustable HAL QA1 shocks(i asume they are pretty stiff), will some other springs fit them? Help!

The only place I know that offers fully adjustable coilovers for front AND rear is LGMotorsports, you advise them how stiff you want the springs to be and what shocks and they set them up for you, I thiiiiiiink it'll run you over $1K bucks.

There's some "hybrid" adjustable coilovers, one manufacturer is called GC Coilovers, which basically has the front coilover springs sitting on a "hat" that you can adjust the hat height which will lower/raise your car, but for the front end every time you adjust the ride height you'll need to geve yourself another alignment. The rears are set up basically like factory, save for the fact that the springs are sitting on GC's ride height hat, so you can raise and lower the ride height for the rear...

With GC coilovers, you again choose the stiffness of the springs(Fronts are ERS-Eibach Racing Series, they're linear springs, the rears are Eibach as well but they're progressive settings.)

You will also be required to choose the shock that you want to use, LGMotorsports offers special bilstein shocks or Koni semi adjustable if you want to use them.

If you DO choose coilover springs and you're looking for a road-race setup I would suggest that you not use the HAL QA1 shocks, as they are set up for 1/4 races and are a FAR CRY from an being an effective cornering-capable shock.

just got back from the NMCA races. pat from QA1 was there. they now have a front spring that 325#. the lowest one is 275#.

Are they saying their 325# fronts are more for taking the corners???

I believe the factory fronts are about the same, although the factory fronts are progressive, are the QA1's also progressive or linear?

I have the GC coilover setup with the ERS 500# fronts & 150# rears and with the Koni's, my car handles like a BEAST...

If hindsight was 20/20 I would have gone for the 600# linear fronts and 175# rears.

joe vinci has the 275# on his car now. with them at full adjustment, the car is low to the ground. with the 325#, he will have more ability to raise the car up.
