04 Cobra 'vert - M6 mysti- 02 WS6 coupe - A4 red
Not to steal any of the attention... But back in about 02 I was driving my 98 TA through an intersection when a guy ran a red light and nearly t-boned me. I had just enough reflex to step on the gas and I got ahead of him just enough so that he creamed the rear panel instead, crunching it and spinning me around two times. It's scary how fast a 'normal' driving situation can go wrong.
You always gotta be on alert!

Gotta disagree a smidge on that one. We were all 17 once. That's certainly a big factor for most of our driving incidents back then of course. But a fun fast car would definitely make us wanna punch it in more situations that we woulda in an old beater. We just learn to control that impulse as we get older

man
sorry to hear about your T/A or T/A's, but like others have said, thank the lord (or watever higher power u look up to) that he is okay. I was in a bad accident when i was about a year older than him and my friend who was the driver passed away, i can say this, it definitely had an affect on the the way i drive today. Seeing how much power and damage cars can cause firsthand is a life altering experience. Hopefully he grasped it and he doesnt come outta of this with a feeling of invincibility like i've noticed some teens do when they get lucky and come out of a life threating experience unscaved.
I have to agree, my first car wouldnt have been able to pass someones car, especially in a corner. Having a car that can perform like our f-bodies can definitely be considered a factor in this situation, if you were driving a car like say a chevy cavalier or a nissan watever? ultima, maxima, you would not be half as tempted to pass another car, cause you couldnt......sorry im ranting arent ianyways im glad everyone made it out ok.

WOW!!! I'm so glad your son survived this. looking at these pics brought back images of the wreck me and my husband was in up in dayton, ohio when we was leaving the T/A Nats. no speed involved, but a full size dodge ram dually w/ a dumptruck bed and pullin a trailer making contact with a T/A is not a pretty site

Oh wow, WS6. I'm glad to hear your boy is okay. I just remember a thread from you recently about a bird. Guessing it was your other boy? It sure doesn't take much to lose control with these cars. I really hope he recovers quickly with no permanent damage.
FYI.... Out of curiousity I had to google what a "Sacrum" was.

Glad to hear everyone is ok, not too many people are so fortunate who get into accidents like this.
I have to agree with everything mentioned previously, but the 2nd most important thing mentioned of them all (next to everyone being ok) is speed needs to be respected.

Oh lord what a mess.... THANK GOD he and his friend are OK..
So sad to see the TA die but, she gave her life up in protecting your son...
I have seen quite a few wrecks over the years on these boads and I always notice that the support bar through the door always seems to be the last barrier of protection making the difference between being injured or being killed in these cars...
Anyways, being a Dad myself of a 13yr old son, I know your heart had to have sunk to your feet when you first heard of the accident... I hope I'm never in that position but, I guess parenting was never meant to be easy heh?
Glad to hear they made it out ok!1999 Firehawk Trans Am #530
