Hey man if you like Barker that's cool. Some of the drummers I've listened to were not technically too intricate but as long as they work within the band that's all that matters.

BEST DRUMMER ON THE PLANET!!!!
Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater.. and now drummer for Avenged Sevenfold.
most drummers of any music genre will admit Mike Portnoy is the best... Followed by Neal Pert

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4S5V-5-JAY[/ame]
Collective Soul - Seen them twice
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_m0bI82Rz_k[/ame]
Blues Traveler - saw them once - my first concert at Red Rocks
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGHZEPXILgA[/ame]
Celtic Woman - saw them twice last year - awesome shows

I also like most of the 80s rock bands, but I'm not much into what most of the people here like. a7x, disturbed, korn, ICP, etc. - not a fan at all but everyone seems to like them. Screamo does nothing for me.

I'd still post Peart as my favorite drummer. Great to watch.

And he plays the mini-piano thing, too.
I don't know if posting singers is okay and I won't post my favorite because his music is even more soft rock than the good song above.

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
Ibanez: Ask your drummer -Any drummer worth their salt can play quads (LH, RH foot, foot - some folks start with the RH) and 6's (LH, RH, LH, RH, foot, foot - some start with the RH) which is what Portnoy is doing a lot. Don't get me wrong as I like him and what Dream Theater has done (I own all they've put out and I've seen them twice).
But I'd rather be a master at playing drums with 4-way independence and have the ability to play open handed (both of which I currently am practicing at).
Even at my age (old dog for sure) you can learn new tricks.
If you wonder what I'm referring to (open handed and 4-way independence in a drummer) then check out what I posted on page 1.

Try the "No human capo" version. Kid shreds doing it via hammer tones...
