"stock stall" is the point or rpm @ which the factory torque converter internal clutches lock up. Like when the clutch on a stick (standard transmission) is fully engaged to the engine flywheel.. This is nut shell of course. Where as a torque converter uses hydrolic pressure to achieve lock up. On a standard lockup is achieved when you take your foot off the clutch peddle..

Actually thats a good choice of a stall for that cam. I just took out a VIG 32-3400 and it will really wake up your car with that camshaft. And if you descide to go to a bigger cam later you get 1 free restall. You will still be able to use your midrange torque on the street and it ought to be in the mid 12s at the track.

    8.2 @ 93 in the 1/8 with 2.0+ 60' times?

Put a 3600+ stall torque converter in it and you'll likely see 60' times drop to 1.6 or so, and a 7.5 @ 94, depending upon the tire.

The cam should NEVER have been put in before the converter. This is nothing new with automatic cars. Been this way for DECADES.

Exactly,,,which is why you lost ET and picked up a ton on MPH. Cam is helping you,,,but later down track.
Needs a converter BADLY. Forget about heads right now.

I'm willing to bet, once a converter is done, you'll start thinking you don't need a set of heads

Exactly, even stock heads flow decent numbers when comparing them to older sbc heads. Yes they can be upgraded to some high dollar/high flowing heads, but OP wont see any increase in times until getting rid of that stock stall.
