    My life is a
    Ben Stiller movie.

i got hongry, so i found oatmeal....oatmeal is the least satisfying thing to eat. it's like consuming vomit the way it feels down your throat doesnt even taste that great either.

I eat my oatmeal cold in milk with fruit. To me, eating cooked oatmeal generally feels like eating a hot bowl of snot.

Made a half hour of OT today. Alignments on older Benz' SUUUUUUUUUCK. Couldn't align the front wheels with seized tie rod sleeves. Customer will supposedly return tomorrow so we can order new parts and his car can be finished.

What are you guys talking about. Oatmeal is the best. Put about 10-11 tablespoons of sugar in it, mix it in, you've got yourself some good eats. I eat that stuff 4-5 times a week, I never get tired of it.

Haven't had oatmeal in ages. Or gritz for that matter. Plain oatmeal or gritz rocked with maple syrup or jam when I experimented with either.

Torch? penetrating lube? Big metal pipe on the end of your wrench?

I didn't use a torch on it as it is a thin metal sleeve like an older 4Runner. Pipe on the end of the wrench didn't do it either. So my manager ordered the new parts and they should be there tomorrow. Plus torches are frowned upon by corporate. They go by "once heat is used on metal, the metal becomes weak" theory.

interesting. as its heat treated metal lol but yeah. seized stuff sucks. Toyota doesnt seem to have the problem though. thank god. I always crack the tie rod nuts on my lift prior to heading over to the alignment rack. Makes life so much easier. I do the alignments in like 25 mins. Other guys stand there with the torch at the alignment rack saying "FUUUUUUUUUU"

So did firestone, but I think the true theory was " we can make more money from this by selling them new parts"

Personally I like my theory best " this is the real world and I am not about to line the owners pockets while I get nothing"

    both true.

The heating with the torch DOESNT make it weaker, particularly a solid tie rod end. I absolutely agree that its cause they wanna sell the customer parts they dont really need. Its just rust. You arent gonna hold the torch there till the metal melts unless you are a dumbass.

speaking of the asshat I had words with him today, what amazes me is it went a very long time without him acting up much. I went to the lunchroom to ask one of the techs to listen to a noise on a car I was working on when they was done. I started picking on them first because they were all huddled together looking at the newspaper all cozy like. well the boss walks in and asked what I was doing.

    me: an Oil change
him: then what are you doing down here
me: duh the oil filters are down here
him: well you are backed up
me: (in the most sarcastic paniced voice I could muster) OH MY GOD IT IS 2 AND i HAVE 2 CARS BOTH FLATS I DON'T KNOW IF I CAN FINISH TODAY.

Damn John you seriously need to calm the fuck down I have it under control, and you need to think about seeing a psychiatrist and getting medicated.

He spent the rest of the day kissing my ass.
