As a backup for those that cant find the CD2, I just bought some Stoners Trim Shine vinyl spray and it works good for this too. FYI

wd40 is NOT good to use like this. It is a lubricant, can stop rust etc but it is a WATER DISPLACEMENT spray. it will dry out rubber and seals. My BEST experience with it was a dumb friend who thought it added a nice shine to his car. His ENTIRE car had the clear coat peel off. It was a rude awakening.

SImple grean spray. Used a rubber brush and brushed away. and Hosed off 15 mins later. Tip: Start with a fully cold motor. COver your alternator. DIsconnect your battery and cover terminals. Use a leaf blower to dry. Allow to sit for a while and when you fire it up let it warm up and the heat will do its job.

How do you cover the alternator? What else do I need to cover? I'll just pull out the battery...

Thanks guys! The car had about 115 k miles when I bought it It was obviously never cleaned. After I cleaned the motor the very next day the car didn't start. Wasn't the battery and I ended up changing the alterntor and it was perfect. I concluded that the water from hosing the motor down with low pressure hose water most likely got into the alterntor. That's the reason why I reccomens covering it. If get a plastic bag you can easily reach in there and cover most of it up. Removing the battery would be good too since it only takes a few seconds. I think I made a post called 'from zero to hero' a while back there's some before after pics there you guys will like

Hi all...............just wanted to let you know I tried cleaning my engine this afternoon with SCRUBBING BUBBLES and I liked the result. I lightly sprayed the engine with a garden hose, sprayed on the SCRUBBING BUBBLES (used a paint brush on the stubborn areas) and rinsed. Very Nice! Thanks billyb from Seminole for the great engine cleaning tip!

Are you talking about the bathroom cleaner shit? If so I have ruined some aluminum before with that stuff. Anything polished aluminum it turned a darker gray color.

LS2Tuner..............Yeah, the bathroom cleaner. I have not noticed any discoloration but then I only let it sit for about a minute before I rinsed it off. I looked at again after reading your message and it looks fine to me.
