I don't think it's the diff. I had the car on the lift and went through the first 4 gears and there was no whine at all. My manager thinks it may be an axle bearing.

1 Mustang (1995-ish)
3 Trans Ams (all 4th gen)
4 sedans (taurus looking ones)
2 large vans (the chevy Astro types)
1 SUV (maybe an explorer)
And about 7 or so pairs of tail lights off in the trees (Was driving during the night so I couldn't see what type)
