about aftermarket fuel rails
im looking into purchasing a Professional Products Basic fuel rail kit from another member on here...he says its a complete bolt on fuel rail kit minus the fuel regulator...im curious if this would require a special regulator? ive never done something like this so any input would be helpful...thanks in advance guys

Looks exactly like my rails. Your regulator is built into the fuel pump so this should be plug and play.
Also do your self a favor and buy the fuel line removal tool to get your old rail lose

I have that setup, and it is almost a direct bolt up. There is a little bit of fabrication, but nothing you can't handle I hope. The plug that SHOULD come with the rails (I say "should' cause it's an option when you purchase it) is called a "-6 to GM Fitting Inlet Line". What I did was take a 3 inch piece of rubber fuel line tubing and connected that fuel rails directly to the hard line that comes up by the driver's side wheel well. Like I said, I hope this isn't outside of you skill ability
These are the three different setups I was considering when I was going to do my H/C/I Swap. I ended up going with the first one. The gray pod is a Fuel Pressure Sensor for a gauge on my A-Pillar. The mechanical fuel pressure gauge is a cheapy I bought from Speed Inc. that fit perfectly in the plug that comes with rails. I had to buy a separate adapter for the sensor.
Here are some pictures with it installed.

Hey LS1 Camino, your car is the one i saw a few months back when I was figuring how to install my rails...I decided on the same set up as you.......I just haven't installed them yet. How long should it take, roughly?

It appears that that the PP rails will fit factory manifolds?
Is that correct?
This is my set-up.
FAST 90 with LS1Speed rails.
I am actually going to move the 'T' to the front of the intake...

ls1 camino, do you remember the size of the plug where you put your fuel pressure gauge in at? i like that idea, and to anyone else, will i need teflon tape for the joints and fittings??

Teflon tape didnt work for crap on mine, and another one I did. We used some liquid teflon from a plumbing store.

Liquid Teflon is the only way to go.
On AN fittings, its not needed and I don't think its recommended.

The plug is 3/8" to 1/8" Reducer that you screw the gauge into.

I used liquid sealant the first time and I sprung a leak on first startup, so I took everything off and used teflon tape and never had a problem.
No power gains. you buy them to support mods like a H/C/I Swap so you don't fuel starve your engine.

i got to looking. and have a few more questions about the aftermarket rail install...my factory rails have a regulator on them, but obviously the aftermarkets dont...will i still be able to use these? or how exactly will that work?

You need to get the ones that come with the regulator then.
