Don't worry about people behind you for future reference. If they hit you it's their problem, other than merging or lane changes

I've gotten two reckless tickets. One while street racing, one for crossing a double yellow line while passing a school bus. Brought my lawyer to court for both, got off on both. Racing charge went to trial, not guilty on all counts. The bus incident, the detective who caught me dropped the reckless and I got a pbj on crossing double yellow.

when i was a teenager i got a wreckless, few years ago i took my cuda up the block went 1 or 2 miles and did a half a donut to turn around to come back, not speeding just popped it around,i look in the mirror theres a car with a green strobing light in the grille i figure fuck it im goin to the house.get to my house the guy gets out asks for my lic and reg, turns out he was the district attorney for the county.5 minutes later 3 cop cars come flying down my block and attempt to arrest me,my kids were on the front porch screamin and cryin so like a good boy i bowed my head and let them cuff me and take me to jail.3 hours later i was home.2 weeks later i mailed in the fine for $ 85.00 the charge was laying drags.i only wish i could have shown them phuckin laying drags.it is an experiance i will never forget as it really phucked me up knowing my kids watched the whole process of daddy going to jail.

idk if anyone suggested this buuuuut, if you REALLY werent on your phone, have ur phone company send you records showing that you werent. what happend that u went off the road? The only thing that could hurt as well as help, is that you're 16 and inexperienced, and chose running off the road instead of traffic. Was there any property damage? What exactly happend that made u go into the grass. That being said, the fact that you have such a high powered car at 16 hurts you, and shows that a 16 yr old who is in fact inexperienced as a driver, shouldnt have such a high powered car.
my story- at 18 when i went to td my first t/a, I got into the car and knew it was fast from the start. I'd been driving for 2 years. the car was an auto. I put my foot down lightly on the gas and the car jumped forward. It took me a good few weeks/ month before i put the hammer to the floor, and every chance i had, took the car through different driving situations so i'd know how the car would react and whatnot.
edit number 2- just saw the other tread and pics. palm to face. I recently drove my bird on the interstate all the way from phoenix to flagstaff with literally bald tires, in pouring down rain, and then snow with no t/c and was fine. Everytime you start to hydroplane, you take your foot off the gas. I'm assuming you were also hotdogging it to try to show your friends your car could get up to speed quick, we all do it, just gotta know when. End story- get the phone company records, and be honest wth the judge. inb4 thread lockedLast edited by Ramairgod84; 01-25-2010 at 01:16 PM.

I had something similar happen a couple years ago. I was turning from an intersection while it was raining and the car got a little sideways on me (was really an honest mistake). luckily for me i didnt wreck though. a cop saw it and pulled me over. He said he "heard my engine rev" so i must have been trying to do it. I told him apparently he as never spun in the rain cause as soon as you loose traction of course your engine revs higher. either way he gave me a wreckless driving ticket. I went to court and even with a couple prior speeding tickets all i got was a fine of 370 bucks and the points. As long as you try and seem apologetic and explain your side i think they will be lenient.

Dang. Something a little like that happened to me about a decade ago. Bad weather, on a major corridor, SUV coming up behind me, signal and move right - off the road into a snow bank. The cops were weirdly hostile and were waiting to see me fail to get the car out by myself, but I did it. I guess they were hostile because they didn't ask questions and assumed it was my fault. (Ultimately, they also lacked basic decency.) The female cop probably concluded you were driving too fast for the road conditions. Lawyer up and bring phone records, for less of a penalty. For future reference, these cars don't handle well.

BAH! I was 18 and got hit with a wreckless driving for losing control on an on-ramp and slamming into and ripping out a light pole. GET AN ATTORNEY. I paid him like $300 and he had it lowered to careless driving which was like a 2 pt offense instead of a 4 pt offense. I don't think you have anything to worry about...unless you don't hire an attorney.

Got a street racing ticket at 17. Was doing well over 120mph. Dressed up, went to court and was completely honest. Said it was 1:30 am, not one single car on the road so my buddy and i went at it. I said"yes it was extremely dumb, yes it was extremely reckless and yes im young and inexperienced". All of which was 100% true. IF the judge asks you what kind of car you were driving, say a camaro and leave the z28 part out. The judge asked me what kind of car i had and i said "just a firebird" my idiot friend who also got caught answered with,"06 subaru turbo wrx". It ended up being dropped to a 50 in a 35. I told the judge i was willing to do anything such as community service, pay a larger fine etc to keep my license because i was worked every day.
Go in there and be straight up, say your sorry in as many ways as possible, dont try to be a hardass because you think you got fucked over. its not gonna help you. And get your phone bill to prove you werent on the phone.
