Change Oil light then Check engine
So i was driveing the camaro around Sat night change oil light came on. Pulled over and checked in it was fine. It came on and off a few times then my check engine light came on. Everything seemed fine for awhile until i got home and it was idling kinda funny, just wondering if there would be any corrolation with the change oil light and check engine.

Triple Black- 1998 Trans Am WS.7 Vert
I wish I had an answer for ya but I may have some additional info.
My Trans Am had the oil light come on about 2 weeks ago just once. The light came on when I left the house, I got to the gas station and bought a quart (it was LATE so the part stores were closed and I didn't want to drive her dry) and checked the oil, perfectly within operating levels... It hasn't come on since but a few days later my check engine light came on and my local autozone read the code for me and it came up with O2 sensor bank 2 sensor 2. I replaced that and she's been running fine since.
I don't think there's really a correlation between the oil light and the O2 sensor, that's just the way it happened with mine.

No correlation.
Have the code read, change the oil, reset the oil life meter and you should be good to go after you have fixed the code

Change oil light (GM oil life system) should only stay illuminated after startup when recomminding it be changed, then turn off after a few seconds - not while driving.

thanks for the info. I got it reset, and I was curious because after I changed it, the next morning going to work it came on for a sec and went off and has stayed off sense. Knowing thats normal now puts me at ease as to why it came on. Thanks again.
