Why is it as soon as anyone has a problem with a LEO, we get the same 4 or 5 trolls jumping up to defend them? KICKBACKS?
The older i get ,the less respect i have for police.
go ahead and flame on. One keyboard warrior to another.
Of course i will get flamed by the board trolls who do not live and get out,but sit here and make 1,000s of posts instead??

If you are calling me a troll, go ahead. I defend the profession because it happens to be the one I have. I have never claimed that we are a perfect bunch, but I do know that MOST of the complaints against cops are from people who have been on the receiving end of what they do. I also know that MOST of those same people have problems with authority (at all times), think that rules apply to everyone but themselves, have lost a significant other to a cop, or a few other categories of issues that cause them to hate cops....almost always because of their own actions (or inactions).
In any event, at least cops stand for something, have the resolve to don a uniform/badge and try to bring order to a out-of-order world. Cops, military, firefighters, medics, and teachers are some of my heroes because they have the guts to stick it out there and try to do something positive. Somebody who just bad-mouths others in the safety of internet anonymity is synonymous with one word to me.......coward.

Dont get me wrong, i have great respect for firefighters, military, and medics. I was one.
Cops on the other hand...I am not saying they are all bad,but you have to admit that most cops have a problem.
I dont know if it is a power trip, short man syndrome, unloved by there mother/wife, I don't know.
Used to be to serve and protect, Now it is to search and ticket. Anything to get $$ out of you.
And if it makes you feel better to call me a coward for my opinion... that only shows i am right about cops, if you dont have his opinion,,you are wrong and a "coward"..OK
lets see if you feel the same in 4 years when you loose the badge, and on the other side of the "uniform/badge" is jonny newbie and his ticket book.
Flame on boys.....

Well now I do agree today's cops seem to be major league pussies....guys who were in drama/band and got their ass kicked fairly regular and now carry a gun and have a "I'm a badass" attitude. When I was growing up being a cop was a decent living and profession and we had pretty good cops....today it seems like we got fucking rejects/losers as cops....So I can see why some kids here hate them like they do....My little town pays these fucking retarded kids less than $30K a year w/benefits to be a cop.....shit kids hustling burgers make that.....so we get retards.

MOST cops have a problem? Yeah, you're right about that. They constantly deal with the worst that people have to offer. It's not a damn reality show where you can change the channel whenever you feel like it. That seems to be how most people want the world to be. It doesn't work that way.
In LESS than three years, my badge will be a keepsake and nothing else. If you think that badge (in my mind) made me a bad-ass, you are sadly mistaken. I've never claimed to be one. I will tell you this, the badge RESTRAINS me from doing what I feel is called for sometimes. When I'm retired, that will no longer be an issue. I have NEVER hid behind the badge.

I don't think he meant you Jad. There are rookies out there who act like they know more than veteran LEOs but the vets are more laid back. The vets I have met when I was young were peaceful when they weren't using their instincts. There are rookies who just want to berade the public. I have met them too. I used to work with an FTO who HATED breaking in rookies because they were making thoughtless mistakes and it frustrated the living hell out of him. The veteran LEOs hae the most wisdom as they have more time on the job IMO.

Maybe you're right. It's just no matter how hard you try -as an individual - you get lumped in with categorical comments that should be directed at the smaller percentage of LEO's who make up the worst.
I spent yet another NYE working until 3 in the morning, dealing with the trouble-children of this world so other families could walk the streets and enjoy festivities in peace. My family had (and hosted) yet another NYE party at my house that I could not take part in. I try to put it behind me, and made the mistake of opening this thread to see the haters having at it. It's getting old. When I see these rants aimed at any other profession other than law enforcement, I'll feel that the love is shared equally (even if it is without merit), but this forum just seems to consistently have those who take great enjoyment in insulting a profession they more than likely have never attempted themselves. In the rules it specifically says that cop-bashing is not allowed. I expect moderators to enforce that rule.
Tired of it man. Very tired of it.

Thank you for writing that! I haven't been in an assignment to write tickets for years, but recently during an off-duty job I did have an obligation to write tickets for parking in a handicap area. No placard and no DMV verification that such was assigned to the vehicle = $100 ticket. I wrote them when it was a violation, and I did not - and will not - see another penny in my pay because of it. I wrote them because it is the law and it is a problem when a eighty year old wounded veteran can't park near an entrance because a lazy-assed college kid chose to violate the law. That happened THAT day. I waited and saw the twenty-ish year old trot out to his car and cuss at the sight of the ticket on the windshield. Tough shit. Nothing personal about it past the fact I hate lazy-asses doing that stuff.

Haha. Up here, the cops will block the idiot into the spot, wait for said idiot to walk out and basically say FFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUU, then the cop will ask said idiot if the illegally parked vehicle belongs to said idiot. If yes, said idiot gets COUPON. Visit to judge for said idiot.

That's what I have tried to do. We just had a rookie (less than 1 year on his own and still on probation with no civil service protection) just get charged with sex offenses directly related to his job. He USED the badge in a dishonorable way and now he has been arrested under felony charges by the SAME department he worked for. Terminated immediately since he was still on probation. He is still afforded his "day in court" and presumed innocent, but I assure you that his former co-workers have absolutely no use or respect for him. He harmed every one of us with his actions, yet WE did nothing wrong. WE get to suffer through this because of the actions of a rogue, and it really hurts to see the public lose faith in us as a whole.
