Yeah, I hate it. And the whole bloated ass huge thick car with a short roof thing. The vert looks way better with the roof down. DOn't particularly like it either. I don't like the driving position or interior of 4th gens either. My dad doesn't understand why I hate driving the Formula. No height adjustment and I have a really short torso for 6'. Also, the previous owner wore out the bottom and bolsters with his fat ass. Power adjustables coming soon...

The new 5.0 redlines at 7000 rpm.
I can't wait to hear one. Love my LS1 but I confess that the Ford V8s sound better.
Couple that with a manual trans and it will be as good as sex.

so a 2011 V6 mustang will almost be able to beat a 2010 GT? since theres only a 10HP difference...aaannd will a 02 Z28 be able to beat a 2010 GT with ease?

The 4.6 still has a good bit more torque than a v6 which is important in a heavy ass car, so no. And your car should bitch slap a '10 gt with ease bone stock

Not so sure about bitch slapping a 2010 with ease.
Motor Trend got one to a 13.5 @ 105 in the 1/4, and they are not the quickest drivers.
A 2010 GT would probably be very close to a drivers race with a stock LS1.

Bitch slapping doesn't have an exact definition but.. Anyways 315 horsepower and 325 lb/ft in a heavier car doesn't even sound close in real life

i'm sure they will play the shit out of the 5.0 moniker... Or Boss 302, some shit like that

Yes, but remember that Motor Trend only got a 13.5 when they tested a WS6 T/A, exact same as the 2010 GT.
It took the GT 10 years to reach parity, but give credit where it is due.
It closely matches stock LS1 performance with a liter smaller engine.
And you can bet that "The Return Of The 5.0" will be heralded in the commercials. Too much nostalgia in that 5.0 badge.

I think 346 cubes is closer to a 5.6 really (may be wrong) so it has six tenths of a liter on the five oh. And It's all apples to oranges. dohc, 4 valves etc. And Ford chose that displacement. Gm chose a larger displacement, who's problem is that. No Ford bashing here though, GT>5th gen by miles.

We were comparing the 2010 GT which is still 4.6 liters.
The new 5.0 is in a different league.

Oh well, still Ford's problem (or maybe not, Mustangs actually sell) for making the small motor

I don't have a stake in any of that, but.. How long have sbc's and lsx's been in the 400+ cube range?
