i have a 2000 ws-6 and i it is time for new tires all around, i want to go with the MICKEY THOMPSON ET STREET DRAG RADIAL TIRES on all four tires, someone mentioned it is not good to go with drag radials all around, can anyone clarify if this is a myth or truth? Thanks guys...by the way i have the corvette staggered setup 315 35 17 in the rear and 275 40 17 in the front...

There's no point at all in doing this.

I don't think its a good idea. Do you drive your car on the street? DRs will burn up quick and be a waste of money. On the strip you would want skinnies in the front for weight

With dry weather they will be fine. The question is why are you wanting to run a drag radial on a front tire. It is not myth or truth.. Yes you could drive with them all the way around but why? DR's will not last anywhere near the miles that a good street tire will. So you will be replacing them alot more often. So in the long run they will cost alot more. Can you run them on all 4 corners... Sure... Why ????

He prolly wants a matched set on it. Can he? Yes. Should he? Prolly not.. But to each their own..

And to the people supporting this idea I can only assume you've never driven a car on drag radials

I've got Nitto 555R DRs on the rear and Nitto 450 Extreme streets on the front and I like the setup. However, my car rarely leaves the garage. Do what you like, but if you're driving the car everyday and in all weather conditions, the DRs won't hold up very well for you.

It's not a good idea at all they are not made for the type of load they get on the front. Not to mention the cost of replacing them. If you need to have them all the same go with BFG DRs in the back and regular BFGs up front. There is a reason why you never see this.
