02SOMZ toasted by GT500
I knew it was inevitable, but it still sucked regardless...
My friend with the 2007 Mustang Shelby GT500 and I (2002 Z28, 100% stock) were coming home from our daughters' high school football game (they are cheerleaders)...
He came up on me from a good 50+ yards, and I had no chance... Passed me (in a legal passing zone) as if I was standing still...
It was for a good laugh, but it still sucked...

I think you are wrong on this. The GT500, not the KR or the 2010 GT500, runs high 12's unless they are modded. I'm running high 12's with a lid, FRAM, catback and a handheld tune. I'm thinking LT's and get rid of my 2.73 gears for some 3.73's and that fat pig of a car is history, unless he is modded.
GT500= overweight underperformer. Kinda like the new Challenger and the new Camaro. The only car that is decent weight wise is the C6. Everyone else needs a diet.

Ignition Orange/Black- 2008 G8 GT, 98 Z28 383
Yup. I smoke stock GT500s in the 1/4 all day long in my cammed/stalled/geared LS1 car. They trap faster than I do but can't get any traction off the line. On the street it's even worse. I am sure one with some dr's would get me and they pull like crazy at highway speeds but stock I dont worry too much. I havent run the newest edition yet, would like to.
Ferg, get some gears and a stall for your car. You will cut a half second off your times.

Or I could just buy your T/A for the money I'd spend doing a cam gears and a stall.
I'm actually pretty happy with solid 13.0's and the occasional 12.7-12.8 when the air is right.
I'm thinking about adding a C5 Z06 or a C6 Z06 to the fleet though.
I tried to talk a friend into your 98 last night. He's thinking about it. That's a great price for that car.

Yes the gt500 is a pig. look at the mph it does stock. Can't even beat a base c6.

Guess we'll find out next April/May... Knowing him, he'll be well modded by then though... Unless he totals this one like he did his last GT earlier this summer after doing a +500hp supercharger install on it during the winter...
