So I was checking around on a dealership that is near me and found this for sale, 6spd, zr1 with 19k on the clock. Just figured if any of yall was interested in the only dual overhead cam v8 that chevy ever come out with. The LT5. http://www.morrisonmotorco.com/displ...theme=morrison

Yea that was what I was trying to figure out why a used car lot had 5 new maro's, and everrett didnt have one while I was on leave in july and beginning of august. I was like wtf this is booshit, but the 92-94 was the only years they used the lt5 it was the only dual overhead cam v8 chevy ever made, hence if you read the history of why they decided to go with the old school pushrod v8, instead of the dual overhead cam. Was mostly because the throttle response. The higher ups in gm drove two different corvettes one with the lt5 and I believe the ls1 if im not correct. But they liked the ls1 with 345 horsepower, over the 405 horsepower zr1.

Then your grandpa has a rare testing zr1, only 100 or so were made in 89 for testing purposes and in 90 the number was bumped to 2000 production cars per year.
What i thought was cool was the valet key feature, there was a hidden switch under the radio that limited teh zr1 to 200hp in normal mode. When you wanted to get on it you would then switch it to the 375hp mode.Last edited by Zinergy; 09-03-2009 at 12:58 PM.

89 through 91 or 92 was 375 crank, then the heads and some valve train was upgraded in the later years of c4 zr1s and it made 405hp. And yeah they stopped making the c4 zr1 in 94 or 95, cant remember. I was just saying the 89-94 zr1 all used the lt5. But it was better in the later years as was the suspension.Last edited by Zinergy; 09-04-2009 at 05:53 AM.
