2001 3.8 Black - sold- 2000 SS Black M6
PCA, or patient care associate, or nurse aide, lol. whatever you want to call me. equivalent titles also include PCT and CNA.
I dunno how much I make a year, but its somewhere along the lines of 14k a year, lol.
i make $10 plus 15% shift diff if i work evenings or weekends, which i do a lot.
not a bad job for me being a student, i literally work when i want. I can take off up to 90 consecutive days, or i can work 7 days a week, 16 hr shifts.
basically i record patients vital signs, blood sugar, etc. give them baths, remake their beds, pass out meal trays, feed them, shave them, whatever.
depending on the nurse I'm working with I can do more. I get my RN this year, and did my clinicals at the same place I work, so the ones i worked with then know im competent.
Oh and did i mention i clean up shit? lots and lots of shit.

The hospitals around here are trying to weed out LPN's (yet again) which is totally fucking stupid because the LPN's do all the shit the RN's won't do. That just makes the job of the CNA or PCA harder, they have more work to do. The hospital I work for honestly tried to get this LPN to go to RN school when she was 2 years away from Retirement!! She said,
and took her retirement early. I don't blame her.
I don't think it'll work for long, they all tried that shit about ten years ago and patient care quality fell through the basement so I'm thinking they'll come around and keep the LPN's.

yeah, I work at an LTAC, long term acute care.....its basically the next step above ICU...although we do have ICU patients...on vents, in comas, whatever. were designed for long term patients...you need atleast a month to even be admitted. weve had people as long as 6 months...one guy right now has been in and out for the last 8.
since we are a critical care area....we dont have any LVN/LPN's. if we are short staffed well contract some from an agency...but the full time employees are all RN's, mostly with hardcore experience, like MICU, burn units, etc.

im an automation engineer for a company that builds equipment used to melt metal.
i do a lot of hardware integration and programming. heres a few pictures of my ARMS (automated robotic melt shop) project.
one of the smaller robots weve used, 240 kg payload:

me with a 500 kg payload rated robot:

another of me and the 500:

heres a shot of the 500 in action. its adding material to the furnace to adjust the metal chemistry. the robot protects the operator from molten metal splash by distancing them from the hazard:
