9" advice best way to go in build???

Ok i picked up a 9" thirdmember dirt cheap looks bran new but it has a 28 spline eaton locker installed. I wanted to get a moser axle and housing package. my question is should i swap out the locker for a 31 spline tru trac or would i be ok with 28 spline axles? Its going in my 01 ss with a 383 stroker gonna have nittos on for now then slicks later. Just looking to have it strong and not break at the track launchin other than that its a street car. please give me your input?????

I would really go with at least 31 splines. And not a true trac guys on ls1tech have broken tru trac launching hard, unless your a auto, mines a m6 with a true trac. Hope I don't brake it. What kind of third member did you buy there are tons of them, there is stock fords nodular iron the non nodular, then there's a war case which is old. Unless it's a strange or moser centersection

The one I got is all iron its not a aftermarket one I don't belive. Where would be the best place for a 31 spline diff and and axle/housing package?

Ugh, there is always someone somewhere that breaks something. Just because the guy was on Tech should not pursuade someone into not going Tru Trac. Alot of those guys love to bash certain products

Tru trac can hold (Im guessing) way more power then what your putting to the ground. 31 spline is your best bet. Theres no reason not to go with it besides, in your case, cost. Tru Trac is a nice setup that works well on the street and strip.

Ok several ppl have broken them. Will I,better not because that thing is 600 bucks, a serious street strip car I would run a locker or a spool. That's all

I would upgrade to the Dayton pinion support. If it don't have it already.
