    Charles' 80th Birthday Present

A co-worker's "land-lord" (for lack of a better term) just celebrated his 80th birthday. He's a very successful composer/professor at the local state university. He wanted to do something special for his 80th and started looking at exotic sports cars. My co-worker, Bob, says that if Charles has to be talked into buying something, he won't buy it. But if he can't leave it's side, he'll come home with it. So this morning this is what pulled into the shop's parking lot.................

(excuse the crappy quality... it is my camera-phone, and it's kinda-broken)

This is a 2008 Ford Mustang Shelby Cobra GT500. Supercharged 5.4ltr V-8 with a 6spd (yes, 6spd) manual transmission. Convertible, black with white stripes..

I'm not a fan of the new body style, or of mustangs in general. However, this vehicle has a lot of power, drives/rides nice and handles well. The six speed is a big improvement.

Love it or hate on it, don't care either way... I just thought it's a rare piece for my neck of the woods and I would share it with the group.

That's how I ended up with the SS.....Had a perfectly good 97 Z & decided to buy myself a nice birthday present in 2000.
    I'm still happy.

I'm sure he will too. He's owned primarily Ford convertibles his whole life. But none with 500+ HP. More power to him.

The man has never had a speeding ticket in his life. He still rides motorcycles too! He owns a couple harleys, a BMW bike and an old Triumph.

If and when he trades this one in, it will be the most un-abused (low mileage.... he lives on campus) Shelby ever.

    Yeah I hear ya!

We threw a party for a brother that hit 80.
Hired a band, dancers for the guys & hooker for him.
She went over to him & said; "Honey, I'm here to give you some super sex!" To which he thought a minute & replied; "What kind of soup?"
