Trans Mount
I replaced my trans (auto) mount on my 98 a couple of weeks back. I am now getting vibration in the car. I went back with the ploy mount from Jegs, seems the mount is to stiff and I am transfering the vibration to the body. Has anyone else had this problem. I am thing about swapping out this one out with the original mount from GM Parts Direct, part number 22174970 for 59 bucks.

The poly mounts are much stiffer than the rubber mounts, and will transfer more vibrations/noise into the cabin. Its just the tradeoff for having stronger mounts.
Only way to get rid of the extra vibrations is to go back to the stock rubber mounts. I don't trust the stock ones very much though, when I got my car, the stock trans mount was torn completely in half. I'll live with the extra vibrations to keep the powertrain in place. However, my car is not a daily driver, either.

Yep, mine was ripped in half too. Mine is my daily driver, not sure if I am going to replace or not. I have a 30 mile drive one way.

I had a piece of thin soft rubber placed between the poly mount and the cross brace, and it helps minimize the vibration.

Get the Energy Suspension trans mount, then cut/grind the 2 preload bumps off then mount it up. I've ran my car this way for over 6yrs with no problems, and with very little vibration/noise increase in the car.

they vibrate for the first month, then after it goes away i mean not completly but wont vibrate like it just to. i place a piece of old tire rubber between the mount and the tranny and i have no vibrations here.. but if you keep breakin the original mounts this has to do with the reinstallation of the transmission for some reason before i never have to replace the tranny mount, but after the unistalled the tranny for some work and reinstalled i was breakin the oem mount every 2 months or so
