So refilling my tank (16.?) gallons if I remember right, would be just 3 oz and thats it? Im going to have go get some tonight and add it since I just filled up yesterday. Good write up.

If this is your first use I would put in 4 oz. remember that you have none in the tank so you need to add for the full 18.5 gallon tank not just the 16 you put in.

If you have been treating already then 3 oz. is fine, I would try to go 3.5 myself but thats just eyeballing the measure anyway.

edit. Sorry didn't realize you are a Camaro, I have no clue how big your tank is. But treat for the full tank not just the amount you add if it is the first treatment.

I read the first page of this, and skipped right to the last- they're both "do I put EXACTLY 4 oz in for the first time?" lol I was def wondering this myself and will prob try it next time I can get to an auto parts store for the Pennzoil. Did I miss anything in the last 22+ pages?

Oh and what do you guys think of Seafoam?

Basically it boils down to put in somewhere between 1oz for every 4-5 gallons of gas although some people are doing 1 oz for every 6 gallons. Sarges original tests are a 1:500 ratio which is 1oz/4gallons.

I have never used seafoam, I tried this and it seems to work for me. The car runs very smooth and I seem to get better MPGs. I say it seems to because there was no scientific testing. basically I live in Miami my brother is in Gainesville and I make the trip 6 or more times per year. It seems like at similar speeds whether I watch an average for the trip or the inst. readout on the DIC I am getting and extra MPG maybe slightly more with the 2-stroke.

The real reason I decided to use this however is that Sarge is saying it will protect the fuel system from the long term effects of alcohol in the gas. Since these effects are not visible in the short or even medium term I have no clue if it helps or not but I tend to trust Sarge.

I am also trying to get my father to try it on his Deville since it is burning about 1 quart per 600-1000 miles and alot of people are saying it helps them by reducing blow-by and oil consumption. If I can get him to try it I will post results.

Experiment with it a bit and see what your car likes best, I don't think you can put in too much unless you get real crazy. There are people on Bobistheoilguy that swear by using 1:250 or stronger so unless you get real strong I don't think it can harm anything. I shoot for 1oz/4.5gallons to 1oz/5.25 gallons. I just have a container in my trunck with 2 oz. marking and I just eyeball it every time. If I am going to put in 16 gallon I put in "less than" 4 oz. If I am going to put in 14-15 gallons I put in "more than" 3 oz. Remember the remnants in the tank from the last fill up is already treated.

Did it in my Goat and in my wifes 04 chevy PU, the carbon that came out of the PU was incrediable, the tail pipe was solid nasty black and after 4 tanks it started cleaning up and the milage went up to 3 mpg on the HW and about 1 1/2 on combined and it had 104,000 miles. The Goat got 2 on paper and 1 1/2 on the guage and cleaned out the carbon. Sea Foam is good stuff, I use it in my boats because it helps keep the fuel fresh, but it cost about 7.00 a can and the 2 stroke is much less expensive and does a good job, I use 1oz per 5 gal, also like the fact that it helps lube the fuel pump on up.

Nice, it must be that cheap cause you're in TX. @ the autozone the other day it was $9.99 for a can of seafoam....when I worked there in 2005 it was 5.49 I think?

So where is eveyone buying this oil? I checked wal-mart, advance, o'riellys and autozone non of them carry it. The only thing I could find was pennzoil Marine Premium plus 2cycle oil which is a synthetic blend not a full synthetic like the one sarge recomends.

That's weird, bought mine at Wal Mart and saw it at O'riellys, Maybe try a boat dealership. Hope that helps because it works great.

I am using the Walmart brand I forget what it is called, it comes in a blue bottle. I figured out the Advance stocks this in a different place from out oil, I though they did not have it also but was wandering around the store once and it was there. If you can't find it try BoatUS or Marine suppy store.

Incidentally, I just changed my oil (just the second oil change since I bought the car. The first oil change had alot of "gunk" in it. This time no "gunk" so I think that means alot less blow-by, one of the benefits Sarge mentions, so looks like it is paying dividends.

I'm pretty sure it is just TCW-3 ashless that is important, not the synthetic. Sarge said that earlier in this thread so you can buy the cheaper stuff with the same benefits and easier to find.

I figured that out after searching threw this thread. Thanks though, I was just lazy and did't want to read every page but I pretty much did anyways.

I've only ran threw about 1/4 tank but my mpg has shot up almost 3mpg, its crazy. The avg went from 18, 18.4 and 17.6 the last three fill ups to at this point in the tank 20.5, the mpg i get on the instant read out crazy high as well, cruising at 50 which is most of my driving im getting 26-28mpg before I was lucky to get 22-23. So far im impressed just by the mpg increase which i did not expect so soon.

As long as it is TCW-3 rated (ashless) your golden. Conventional or Synthetic. Most of the testers used the WalMart stuff. SuperTech or whatever it is called. I use Pennzoil but just because I have access to it locally.
