iPod / iTunes Question
iTunes says my iPod is almost full, with only about 25% of the storage being songs, and the rest being other. I don't have a single photo or video on there and can't find the 'other' to get it off so I can add mroe songs. any thoughts on what the additional storage is being used for?
Thanks in advance.

haha....no.
I tried to restore it, but it can't. I also tried to update the software, and I can't do that either. Both times, it said it couldn't because some files were being used for another application. I have no idea what this means.....nor do I have any other files or programs running besides IE and iTunes.
I really want to add some new music and get rid of some used storage space that I'm not even sure it's storing.

4GB Nano. Got in '07 I believe. It doesn't play videos...it's tall, narrow width, and thin. It's got a screen unlike the shuffles, but it's like the older, larger models that have a larger screen for videos.
It's only got about 50 songs on it now, and it won't allow me to add any more b/c it's about full, yet the music is only making a small % of the allowed limit.

always dirty- 2013 Ram 2014 Caddy ATS
Plug it in and have itunes load. Then click on my ipod on left column. You should be able to see what is saved on it. Could be games or other free stuff they have on there.

allow the computer to view hidden folders...open up explorer and click on the ipod if you have it enabled as an external drive. you should see all the hidden folders on your ipod.
click through them and see whats on it.

Not sure why you can't reformat the Ipod.
I'm not at home so i can't really walk you through it, but there is a setting somewhere in itunes.
The setting uploads and updates your ipod automatically as soon as you plug it in. So your ipod will mirror whatever songs you have in itunes.
Try that I guess.
If not, you can get risky and delete the songs manually by viewing the hidden folders.

Are the songs legal or is it from limewire or some shit? Because having songs downloaded from "illegal" places can make the data corrupted and add stupid files to your stuff. Happened to me for a few songs on my ipod. Says theyre on there but wont play em
