yeah! RAWR! haha i loan my expensive tools at work to techs all the time the ones that understand what its like to buy them and have stuff i dont have. then i dont mind. But its those shadetree guys that dont have jack shit for tools or a toolbox full of useless miscellaneous standard stanley and craftsman shit that i have a problem with. They dont understand what its like to buy snap on stuff, they borrow yours and realize how nice it is and try and keep it or beat on it like its a 10 dollar craftsman piece of shit.

Well i loaned my parents $21,000 and they almost got my paid back so im not worried there. I borrowed my sister $350 and i have only got half back and that was 8 months ago that i borrowed that i hope i get that back. ANd just last month i borrowed a good friend $3350 which i hope to get back. I guess i dont have a problem borrowing money as long as i get it back but as soon as everyone gets me my money paid back i am done borrowing money to people. The way i look at it time is money and if i dont get that money back than that is alot of wasted time.

Well i really owe it to my parents tell you the truth. I do live in there house yet and dont pay no rent. I basically paid off my parents garage and in return i got to live here rent free. I have been saving my money for 4 years last month. To be exact i have 94K to my name including the money ppl owe me. But when they get me paid off i am going to have to pay rent but not much.

This thread reminds me of my former best friend. He bought his house and his wife immediately fkked it up. Wanted to make a walk through where a closet was and we knocked the wall down. She wanted new flooring...we did that. She began to clutter up the entire house. FAIL. Started giving us attitude for her mistakes...WRONG!! End result...my best friend and myself no longer speak. I got tired of his wife's sh1t VERY quickly. I tell people now that I am indeed a selfish a$$hole...and I have my car to show for it if anyone thinks I'm B.S.ing them.
I HATE USERS!!!
If I borrow something from someone else I make it my business to return it in the condition it was loaned to me.

Yeah people can be shitty i know what you mean. It is always a gamble when you borrow something out. All i know is that i would always pay someone back or return something asap. I would never do a person wrong. I guess you find out who your real friends are sooner or later.

One thing I have learned, is if a friend is going to buy something off me, I want every last penny in my hand before they take it. I've been on too many "payment plans" where we agree on a set amount paid each month, and they don't abide to it.
Let a friend buy some wheels and tires for 800$ in August of last year. We agreed, 100$ per month. To this date, I have only received 350$.
I let my dad borrow $6,800 when my parents split up. He said he would pay me back, with interest, when we sold the sold and moved into something smaller....
We moved 5 months ago, and I have gotten 500$ back from him.
I fixed my brothers computer for 150$, took him 6 months to pay me back.

As long as they understand I want it back in the exact same shape I loaned it I'm OK. Fuck me once and don't ever ask for anything from me again. So far so good. Very few have screwed me.

I used to be good about letting others borrow my stuff. Over the last few years my views have also changed because my stuff gets returned broken if even returned at all. Ill only borrow out something if I have collateral against the items...

I don't mind helping people out but I never lend tools or equip. Lending sometimes tends to create forgetfullness. My fav is the "well it worked when I used it"! Best to not lend tools. Money seems to have the same effect sometimes too. They can rent tools.

I have had to borrow a few things before, but always make sure the item is returned in the same shape or better, such as me cleaning the item for them or what not. I had to borrow my step dads pickup to bring a couple of cars home. i racked up about 350 miles on his truck, i made sure the tank was full of gas, and ui changed the oil for him, cuz i saw the sticker he had was about due for one. i said thank you, and he said thank you. dont burn bridges so to speak......although my step dad got burned 2 years ago...he was on vacatiojn 2 years ago, had his brother come over and borrow a snowmobile that was an extra to him, and borrowed his pickup to get the snowmobile home.knew my step dad was gone for 2 weeks so just pleasure drove his pickup all over the place and even loaned it to his kids or friends. well his daughter got in it drunk one night and rolled the truck out in a corn field in the middle of nowhere and left it. well needless to say my step dad had to buy a new truck...and also no longer has that snowmobile due to them blowing it up and leaving it for dead...we know this personally cuz my step dad and i tried taking it back this past winter...saw it in pieces here and there and wrecked....was enough to piss us both off...

I haven't read any responses - but after my car trailer got smashed by someone I lent it out to, I just won't do it anymore, and that pretty much goes for anything. I've made a few exceptions on some things since then, but I'm very reluctant to.
Even if it was, or wasn't necessarily his fault, if anyone's going to being wrecking my stuff, I want it to be me.

You charged your own fucking brother to fix his computer? Unless you had to buy hardware, that was total bullshit. You know how many times I've had to drop and reinstall windows on my brothers computer, install new graphics cards, or just fix bugs. I've never charged him anything.
As a side question, is is prostitution if I lend a chick money for promise of sex, and I don't expect to get the money back? How does that work?
