    Nice.

I'm sure you noted the sarcasm in my post.

120mph is tops for me. That was fast enough. I'd rather not wreck, hurt myself or others getting my "speed" fix. Plus, I can't afford to pay a huge speeding ticket and/or lose my damn license.

mind you: with the stock suspension it's getting a bit wobbly above 120, especially when you have to break. with my bilstein shocks, sfcs and new 18" hankook tires it feels a lot sounder.

    actually i didn't...

i have the luxury to do this legally over here on roads that are designed for high speeds. but i usually stay way below that, cruising around 100 - 110mph.

I had a 93 z28 up to 143... never again! I was 18, young and stupid, 4 friends in the car. I could only imagine what if a tire blew out. This is was divided highway with no driveways. I always drive above the speed limit, but theres a point where driving too fast is just stupid. My ta will stop faster than my ram, so I'll drive it faster. But I don't care what your in, you wreck at 100+, it's going to hurt!

I noticed that and that is why I only did it the 1 time. It was on a straight run down an empty hiway. Fortunately I was able to let it idle back down to 75. I do run around 90-100 on the open hiway (where I can) as this is where it seems the most comfortable for my car.

    I agree with Tide.

Fastest I've gone in my IROC was 135mph, street racing on a 2 lane highway at night with some traffic.

I was 16 at the time, and obviously much less mature. You won't catch me pulling shit like that nowadays, hell, it takes a damn good reason for me to go above even 75mph.

there is a reason why i'm very picky about tire pressure and condition, and the general technical condition of the vehicle. and i've driven thousands of miles at speeds of 100 mph and more with no difficulties ever. but you're right of course, high speed driving involves a certain risk.

115 today on a crowded highway with thousands of old ladies lining up the entire shoulder for at least 6 miles or so. There was also a stampede of wild and endangered buffalo that I narrowly missed, and there were three sick chimpanzees riding with me.

Have you guys ever seen whats left of a body when it gets thrown from a car going 140mph+? Pretty much the same thing that happens to everything else. Not much left. Hospitals here have whats called a "disaster box" 2'x2'x4'. Its where they put whats left of bodies in horrible accidents. Can we say,"closed casket"? Just be safe guys everyone breaks the rules sometimes nut it's better to talk to you all. Them dead bodies never have much to say.......

you were most likely not running 178mph, factory speedos tend to be off 5-10% from the indicated speed when going that fast. In reality you were running between 160-170mph.

    It's cool.

I can barely afford the gas for my beast just cruising along the posted speed limit, 55mph-65mph. How often do you have to feed your beast gas?

    Was this on 169 North?

I did see a couple herds of elderly ladies with their walking sticks heading northbound by foot earlier when I was out.

    too often, i'm afraid!
no, it's not like i do the crazy every day. but at 100mph, the gas mileage isn't too bad with my 2.73 gears.

I looked down to see the speedo drop to 155 one day after playing with a vette on the highway. I have no idea how fast we were actually going, probably not much more than 155, but it was at least that.

It was dumb. I've done worse - at lower speeds.

I forget how perfect most of the people here are.

yeah my friend claimed it topped out at 181 with the gears on it but the fastest I could get the speedo to read at the top of 6th was 178.

It was actually surprisingly not scary until I just barely lifted my head up and it tried to suck me off the bike......besides that it felt pretty stable even at that speed on the road i was on
