mls or graphite head gaskets
i am about to buy a stage 2.5 5.3l heads and 228 cam from texas speed and they have 2 different types of head gaskets. the multi layer steel and the graphite. they are about the same price. which is the best gasket?

I've never done heads yet so I haven't read too much about this but pretty sure I'd go MLS. Are they Cometic? I think GM even has their own MLS gasket.

mls will withstand the internal pressures more then graphite will..also gm mls's are like 20 a pop for each side..and are reusable go mls

after you clean all the graphite off the block from your stock gaskets you'll know why mls are so much better.
That being said, if you don't think you'll have to pull the heads ever again graphite will work just fine.
