Guys, it doesnt get ANY better with age. Yall may think you've lucked up and found the "perfect" woman, but Im convinced she doesnt exist! Im a tad older than most of yall, (well except Sarge ) and I dont know a sane, level headed woman alive! Ive seen, done, and been thru enough shit in the last 4 years that a rep from Jerry Springer called the house here for 3 months straight! (one of my dumbass friends called and gave em some info and my phone number) ALL of it is because of WOMEN! None of it seemed that crazy at the time! LOL

From 21 to 31... it was alot harder to find a decent girl. I hope I'm not single at 41 to see how much worse it is. If I knew then what I know now, I would have married a couple girls I dated. But I thought I could do better and maybe I did, but it would have been so much less stress!

The d-bag doesnt want them anymore and they can't compete with the girls in their early and mid 20s. Now all of a sudden they wanna "settle down". What does that mean? It means the nice guy that only gets called on sunday afternoons and weeknights when d-bag fights with her suddenly gets a call. Why? Because hes a nice guy and probably has his shit together, has a decent job and maybe a condo or a house. Said girl is out of shape, has bad credit, a car that is falling apart, and needs nice guy to maintain her lifestyle. Nice guy has wised up and is no longer interested in some busted out of shape "once was hot". Now all of a sudden shes all bitter and wonders why theres "no good guys out there". She'll bitch to her girlfriends and they all gather around and say "you dont need a man hunny". Trying to act all independent and shit drinking cheap wine and eating ice cream, getting progressively fatter. Then one of their friends suckers a "nice guy" and she gets married. Said girl is jealous and proceeds to get sloppy drunk and fuck every single guy at the wedding. True story

sad story, but that also sounds like a sad girl.

If she says no then so be it. If she says yes then take it for all it's worth.
You're as old or young as I am, but I don't think it's easy at all to cope with, as you never really know what a girl thinks: she says yes and it means no, she says no and it means yes, so you never really know what she wants or thinks...Getting older (38 isn't old I think) doesnt make it easier or more difficult, but it doesn't help either, especially if most of the women you meet are younger (betwen 25 and 32 in my case), you still don't know what strategy is the best...

    Red face

Hi guys. I just wanna break some, well let's say good newas as after some ups and downs I'm dating THE GIRL now on a more regular basis. We've been seeing us on almost each Saturday evening, I even invited her to my house, prepared dinner for her (she stayed till 3am), we go to restaurants, went to the movies and stuff. I guess this is partly a result of the good advice I was given on this forum and by reading some stories in this thread.
Well, I'm playing her game, stick to her rules and try not to "overwhelm" her as she put it ones, I just take it easy and move slowly...She doesn't have that many friends and even is leading almost a "secluded" life, at least by my standards. She says she needs time and our relationship (???) should build up slowly, I shouldn't hurry things, I should be patient...
Well I like to be with her, we always have a good time, laugh a lot, so I stick to her rules, even I have serious doubts concerning the nature of our friendship... it's kind of bizarre and I must say I never met a girl like that before, I'm kind of under her spell, and well, may be she still belongs to the category of girls you call "allumeuse" in french. I don't know how to say it in english, so let me give you a definition of the french expression: an "allumeuse" is a girl who almost literally sets you on fire (allumer=to set on fire), and then she teases you, never really allows you to engage fully in a relationship, only kisses on the cheek, and yet makes you believe or feel that there is hope...

Kind of weird, but, let's see,
    Paul

well, doesn't actually sound that bad. maybe she is a tease, but maybe she's just looking for something serious. as long as you see a real development towards more - well - intimacy over the next period of time, it might after all be worth it. what ever that means...
    ...anyway, bonne fortune mon ami!

If women think no man is good enough for them, then us guys can be the same way.

Just like my relatives have told me when I was growing up, "If you're gonna give it, then prepare to receive."

That's exactly how I feel right now - she's worth it. I really think she's looking for something serious and I firmly believe I passed her "test", may be she really saw I don't want to take advantage of her in any way and we share a lot of things, have the same sense of humour, we both like to travel, we both studied in Paris, we like fast cars (she wants to buy a new Z4), so there's no need to rush...

It appears I have a problem that's not really in relation with cars....

How do you recognize that a woman is seriously interested in you and is not just teasing or playing around.
I've been dating a girl (a woman, well she's twelve years younger than me, 26) for about two weeks, before christmas we met three times (having a nice dinner, playing snooker, visiting a Christmas-market...) and I think I begin to develop strong feelings for her...I crave for her...but after I came back from my christmas holidays in Austria (skiing, booked long before I met her) I get the impression that she's kind of avoiding me, which is strange as she sent me a photograph of her only several days ago and asked me to send her a photo of me...I'm kind of confused and I'm not sure at all how to deal with that situation...While I was on vacation in Austria we permanently exchanged sms's and I called her to wish her a happy new year..
I don't want to insist too much but now I'm waiting for a reply to my email, where I bluntly asked her if she got a boyfriend or not...

It seems I need some wise piece of advise...
Walk away just walk away, I just got out of simular type of relationship that went on for 3 years. Its not worth it.

    That sounds pretty scary.
Yeah, three years, that's hell of a long time, If I knew for certain I'd have to go through that type of situation for three years, I'm certain I'd break up at once as I know I just couldn't stand it, I mean i'm a patient and comprehensive guy, but that's way too long. Well you know as well as me, that as long you think there's some probability it will end in a positive way, you still hope...I'll try to fix some kind of time limit, let's say two, three months and then...if things don't straighten out, I will make it clear to her that I cannot go on like that anymore...but of course that's easily said, as she seems really worth it...
    Thanks, P.

Yeah, but anyway you can't help looking for a "decent girl". Anyway, what's a decent girl? It's a question of trust, that's for sure, but the point is you never really know what's on a woman's mind...does she really mean what she says or not, you never know...that's the problem, it's always a case of ill communication...

I agree. I have met women who want to keep me running after them by lying to me/telling me what I want to hear. And when they find out I am not into bullshit then the arguments begin on their end. I delete their contact info and walk away. Then I find out months later that I am a lot better off in the end. Seems I always spot their drama/immaturity somehow.

Sounds like your in too deep... maybe it will work out, maybe not. I defintly wouldn't trust her and keep her on her feet and she how she handles it. She may realize what she got and come around or she may just be lonely and your there. Time will tell... but be prepared for it to go either way.
