From what I have read in GMHTP, the Opti usually goes when the water pump shits itself. I can't remember what issue, but the teal Formula they are working on was retrofitted with the ignition system from an LS-1. Wiring and coils. Came out pretty good.

Yeah, water/moisture is the death of most optis. My waterpump is fine, however, the car sat out front, in grass, for like 2-3 months untouched, not even started, so I'm wondering if it wasnt just condensation that might've killed it. *shrugs*
