Thread: PCV/Catch Can/Crank Pressure

Hello Sarge,
I came across this thread from an internet search and I have a question. I have a 2001 Z06 that I just purchased a CCA oil catch can for:
http://www.customcorvetteaccessories...lcatchcan.html
(these catch-cans are popular on the corvette forum)
My car is currently at The Vette Doctors here on LI and they will be installing it. To be honest I got confused reading this thread and what I am wondering is if this can will work properly on my car and won't be allowing dirty air back into my TB. Any tips, advice?
Thanks,
Kevin

Hey Kevin...sorry for the delay in responding...I'm at my place in Grand Cayman and frankly have been focused more on the boats/beer than here
I'm sure you can understand....
Yes the catch can will be a upgrade over the stock PCV system you have...reducing oil in the intake also reduces detonation/retarded timing etc. So hopefully you went ahead with it....I see an unopened beer....gotta run

Phantom Black Metallic- 2004 GTO M6
I have had folks advise me of getting a catch can because I have a performance cam. Still debating.

Big cam you should also look at a vacuum reserve can.....see the yellow lines running to mine...keeps 20lbs of vacuum for your brakes at all times....big cams rob all your vacuum...talk about instant brake pressure

Anyone know who has the PCV aluminum catch cans forsale reasonable???
I checked awhile back and remember the WS6store had them for around $65
Now I see they are $100 smackers. I may have to just pass on that.

you can make do with an inline water filter for air compressors. Not the optimum set up but it'll work.
