What's funny is you probably defended Danny Briere when he did all this stuff during his time in buffalo. Remember when he swung his stick like a baaseball bat at alex ovechkin's nards? Classless. He did it all the time, Derek Roy does it too. Playoff game against Carolina, there was a little scrum after a whistle and roy flies in there and sucker punches a dude. I'm a sabres fan, but come on...

Skill players are a different breed. It's not only crosby, you could find at least one diver/cheap shotter on every team. It's the way the nhl is, the refs gota let it go because the leagues depending on the scorers...

I have no problems with fighting, its actually an important part of the game. But have the decency to "square off" with the guy you are fighting, and only one on one fights. Crosby has only done that once out of the few scraps hes been in. I would give anything to see Scott Stevens on the ice right now blast Cindy when he crosses the blue line with his head down. Scott Stevens at his best that is.

I'm not a Devils fan, I follow the Islanders so I see a lot of the Devils and the Rock is a nice place to see a game. I cannot agree more that Crosby is a bitch, I'd love to see him get what's owed to him sometime soon. Where is Chris Simon when you need someone to just go out and not give a ****.

But back to the original poster. Ruutu bites a guys hand, he gets 2 games suspension. The penalty calling and suspensions handed out by the refs and the NHL are so inconsistently called and levied that it makes the NHL look like a joke.

I cannot think of another sport where infractions against players are so lopsided'ly called and suspensions against players are so inconsistently handed down to the point where it blatantly obvious.

I'm not too much of a fan of the new NHL because it has taken a game that was a great combination of skill and toughness and is replacing it with a white washed, family friendly version of the Ice Capades with sticks.

I've been to numerous devils games this year and i've seen blatant holding and interference thats clear as day and i was sitting in the 2nd floor balcony and it was obvious. Granted there are very few bad seats in the new arena. I have to hand it to the people that designed that place. They really outdid themselves.
