get a towel as hot as you can stand it and blot it on your new tat. it will relieve some of the itching and help keep it clean.i have over 20 tats and that always seems to help me but everyone says something differentLast edited by issues; 12-22-2008 at 10:56 PM.

Not horrible for it, but not a good idea.
hot water opens the pores. which is a bad thing, after you get a tattoo, you want your pores to close, and keep the ink in, not open letting some of it out.
Its actually recommended to use luke warm water to wash your tattoo, and maybe use a cold damp paper towel to pat it dry to help close the pores because of the quick temperature change.
So, it shouldnt mess it up, but it stands the chance of it changing the inks tones and 'solidness' once its healed.
Wash it with a regular anti bacterial body wash (dial and equate make some great ones), its also acceptable to use anti bacterial hand soap, you just need to make sure it it has no to little fragrance and no dyes. Use warm water and the soap and be gentle. and wash with more warm water. Pat dry with disposable paper towels.
Use a regular lotion while its healing, fragrance free, dye free with no lanolin oil to keep it moist. use very little, just make sure it doesnt dry out.
Using a&d or neosporin ointment(NOT THE CREAM) or even tatooo goo (or any kind of tattoo salve) is okay as long as its only for the first 1 to 2 days TOPS. and you use extremely thin coats.
however, its easier just to use the lotion. I love curel 24 hour ultra healing lotion.
the main thing you wanna avoid here is cross contamination, your tattoo is an open wound, anything you use you need to make sure you wash your hands first. (thats why the lotion(pump) is handy, no chance to contaminate the entire bottle with your dirty hands on accident)Last edited by totalkos; 12-23-2008 at 01:40 AM.

Thats completely illegal, ESPECIALLY in florida. they have very strict body modification rules out there (which is a great thing).
Even in LA where the laws are shitty, its illegal.
Your brother has no legal say in what you do. However, it looks like the shop is very incompetent that allowed this to go on.
If your parents wanted to. They could press charges and have it shut down in a heartbeat. not to mention, the tattoo artist and possibly the owner would see some jail time/fines.
This is a very common occurrence. And it makes body modification artists look like ignorant criminals.
NOT that i blame you. I would have done it to when i was 17 if i could have gotten away with it not knowing what i do now.
However, you need to understand your putting more than just yourself at risk by doing this.

Okay, from what I think i've learned in this thread:
Taylor is a 17 year old minor who was emancipated from her parents, lives in Kentucky, has a kid, and now got a tramp stamp.

I have 7 sofar. don't rub, pick or scratch it, just slap it if it starts to itch (i mean the tattoo) go light on the A&D oinment for a few more days. it will look funny and peel alittle but in the end it will be fine

You will get addicted. I got my first one, the all I wanted to do was get more. Now I have 4. Which include a couple of big ones. I use non scented lubriderm, just keep that on the tattoo, and it will be fine. It will be swollen for a while, and start to peal. Just dont pull at it, let it scab and peal and do its own thing and it will be ok
